You're extrapolating more than what I said. I happen to blame their double league defeats on their bothering to win the league cup.

But dcfcsteve's crystal clear logic shows that postponing matches and getting a backlog is the cause of a title collapse. Now you say a League Cup run can do that too?

What was it Pete Mahon said on the topic? Something like, "I don't know why the so-called professional clubs are complaining, I have prefect faith in my players' abilities to play two matches in 4 days. If other clubs have trouble with it, they should look at their own training plans.". Or something like that.

He might have just been having a dig at Doolo though.
