Could be undiagnosed OCD.
I don't suffer from such nonsense.

If I lived in Limerick I would check my backdoor 3 times, make sure the bullet proof shutters were down, pull up the drawbridge & fill the moat with sharks. Still wouldnt be able to sleep tho!
As it is am lucky if I remember to lock my front door never mind the back one!
I had a "Lucky Headband" for attending the Ireland games between 1987 and the early 90's :o - which coincided with a major unbeaten home run. I wouldn't let me Mam wash the head band as I thought it could wash away the lucky vibes it had obviously absorbed.
She said "Get a job, you're 26!!" :D - (I was only a kid, honest!!)
The "lucky headband" did more for that team than Maurice Setters ever did.
Only if you add living in a bubble to yours!
Awww poor wee monkeyboy!
I'm definitely a collector/hoarder of crap...
Also have to have DVDs/CDs in the correct way in the box. Definite case of OCD.
Tend to use elipses a lot too...
Always have to re-check the locks before going out, and at night.
Do the ticket stub collecting as well, but then I don't collect programmes so it's my record of going to games.
I'm always late for eL games. It's bad luck to see kick off imo, but whether that's really superstition or alcoholism I'm not really sure :D
I won't throw out CD's or Books, even if they're rubbish and I won't listen/read them again. They have to stay in "the collection".
If I'm not present at a match involving a team I support, I won't make any effort to find out through media, etc. 'til the next day. In fact, I'll actively attempt to avoid finding out.
Don't ask me why. It's like I'm afraid if I check the latest score or tune into the final score it'll be a bad one.
Although, I did break this superstition the other day (on accident, by seeing the FT score unintentionally on the BBC sport website) with the rugby international against England. We lost 62-5...........
Cant look at ketchup on a plate or on a tissue/big mac box in McDonalds etc. Like the taste of it and can eat it in burgers etc though! :o
If I like a song I have to download it and put it in the "My Music" folder, cant just go to youtube to see it, must download and add to collection!
Think thats it!
Only just discovered this thread but ye are all freaks! :D
* I am always/often late. I think I was 15 minutes late on first day of current job. Start as I mean to continue ;)
* My spelling is bad as I rarely proof read.
* Used to receive emails for work from guy in Norway who had occasional pigeon English. He would would use no /not/now incorrectly sometimes & used to infect me as in "it is no working" instead of "it is now working". I would proof read emails but totally unable to detect until sent.
* I am sure everyone has his/her morning routines so I don't think they count.
If I don't put a reminder in my phone to do something I won't remember to do it. I'm totally dependent on the thing. If someone calls me and says, "drink tomorrow?" I need to put a reminder for later that day, the morning after and then an hour before I'm meant to be there. Just in case :D
Also can't stand untidiness.
And when I do tidy things away everything has to be symetrical (eg magazines all at corner of Coffee table)
Always seperate my food when eating aswell
For Sunday dinner, for example, I would move my potatos to one side of the plate, carrots to another, peas to another, chicken to another, stuffing to another etc, etc.
But's it's nearly always exactly three timesQuote:
If I lived in Limerick I would check my backdoor 3 times, make sure the bullet proof shutters were down, pull up the drawbridge & fill the moat with sharks. Still wouldnt be able to sleep tho!
I'll check it once, then go to leave the kitchen and check again before I leave. Then just after I leave the kitchen I'll go back in and check it one last time
I've been given out to loads about my habits. Anyone on here who knows any better tell me if it's something more than just plain wierdness?? :p
God I used to be the same about tidiness. Was obsessive until my eldest started crawling & wrecking the place then got more relaxed about it.
Also have the symetry thing goin on. If am setting the table, table mats need to be perfectly in line with the table & cutlery placed precisely too.
Lim-til-I-die, you are just a freak, its a good job there are loads of us!
Freaks unite & take over the world!
I'd imagine the tidiness thing and locking up would be quite common.
Although moving the grub around the plate is a bit excessive!! :D
I'd have a few rituals for locking up the house as I've a fear of leaving on the grill or leaving doors unlocked.
A lot of my superstitions would surround Ireland matches. Once I see the White jersey I know there's trouble ahead...................
Only if dmanetc is your definition of "not a wierdo".
Can't stand tidyness myself. Genuinely when I get home and everything is placed perfectly in order, and things are neatly packed away I start messing it up straight away. Same in the kitchen, there is nothing I like better than cooking a big dinner for a few people and leaving the place in a bit of a state. Don't know why, but order seems to drive me to distraction. At leats that's what I tell my flatmate :p
Once I have one pint I can't stop til I've had at least six, but that might not be classed as a curious habit.
I give myself a set number of lives in computer games. Example is when I'm playing Street Fighter on the SNES. You can continue on no matter how many times you die, but I give myself three lives, no more, no less. Same with every other game and I genuinely will stop playing and start again if I exceed this number, even if I'm on the final boss.
