Something to do with the fact that a senior Drogheda first-teamer was seen backing Rovers yesterday afternoon? I assume the League will look into this and Doolin's team selection.

I think this means they will have the draw in private & announce when done.Quote:
Details of when the draw will take place will be announced very shortly.
Doesnt matter who we get ... we're gonna go

I;m not denying he made those bets, I'm saying that he made as he knew the team Doolin was putting out as opposed to your suggestion that the team was weak because they had bet on it. Pretty much everybody knew that he was playing the u17s...
As long as this guy didn't play there's nothing wrong with it (in my eyes anyway)
sack cronin
Just hope we get drawn at home. Wouldn't like to face a trip to Derry or Ballybofey and back from Limerick on a Tuesday night
There were also a number of chinese fellas jabbering into mobiles for the entirety of the match, asked one if he was a rovers fan and he said he was working??? later i saw the stewards "having words" with them??? are Drogheda being financed by a chinese betting ring?? the plot thickens.......
I can explain that. They are working for a company that provides info for betting companies in the far east and Germany. I've been doing it myself, mostly at Drogheda games for the last year. Think I'm one of the few Irish people doing it they seem to be usually chinse alrite. Basically you stay on the phone and tell this lad in an office in Singapore or somewhere to close betting when there are scoring opportunities and tell him which team is playing better and when there are goals scored. The handiest job you could think of I get paid €75 per game. God knows what they were doing standing in the away supporters side I've never had any trouble with the stewards at Drogheda, probable because I'm white, they don't pass any remarks anyway.
Quarter Final draw is supposed to take place tomorrow (Friday).
It must be one of the easier markets to fix and there doesn't even seem to be a rule against it here. Especially for players and refs who don't get paid much.
Makes you wonder about some of the more dubious incidents in the league throught the last few years - disallowing clear goals/allowing goals that didn't go in/accomplished strikers missing the easiest of open goals etc...
