No surprises in the results this weekend.
I think West Ham will get the win they need against Bolton next week to stay up. Charlton need to beat Spurs next Monday, which there is a slight chance of because of Spurs' poor away form.
Anybody see the feature on Warnock dealing with the post match media on MOTD2 last night? I know he's a bit of a prat, and hardly endearing, but he is undoubtedly entertaining, and has a bit more zest and zeal than most others and will always guarantee a bit of humourous controversy. He was signing autographs for a girl and he asked her what age she was, to which she told him she was 9. Cue Unmistakable Indomitable Warnock Yorkshire accent: "9?! Christ Darlin, ya look like Derek Geary!"
hope wigan get relegated. got them at 4/1 in the bookies at christmas time to go down.
In fairness, I hope Fulham get relegated. They offer very little in the way of entertainment out of the bottom group. I hope West Ham stay up....I would pay to watch Tevez play any day and next season will be very different once Curbishely gets rid of wasters like Anton Ferdinand....he doesnt even seem interested in playing football!
West Ham 3 up and Wigan 1 nil down , hope West Ham stay up , always struck me as a proper football club one that likes to play football the right way
Not over yet but its looking very grim for Wigan. Seems the fairytale is over for the Lancashire side.
Agreed. West Ham have to play Man Utd at Old Trafford, while Wigan are playing Sheff Utd. Can't see Wigan getting the 3 points they need though. Charlton need maximum points from agaisnt Spurs and Liverpool so they're as good as gone. Fulham got lucky that Liverpool played a weakened team today.
Gutted for Charlton and Pardew, good to see the fans give the team the reception at the end that they deserve
Speaking of Keane, I was struck by his muted celebration when he scored against his old team Wolves a couple of seasons ago as compared to Defoe's celebration when he scored last night against his old club Charlton, confirming their relegation. Robbie never forgot who helped him along in his career, obviously Defoe has.
Can't say I am too disappointed to see Charlton go down. Not much of an Irish connection and they were never going to make an impact in the Premiership no matter how long they were there.
So how are we calling the last day of the season lads? Dream scenario for me would be West Ham taking a point off United and Wigan beating Sheffield United to send the pigs scuttling back to the Championship.
Sadly I think that whilst West Ham will get a draw at Old Trafford Sheffield United will probably beat Wigan
I'd like to see Wigan stay up but I think they ****ed it up for themselves. No hope for them now.
How can you say they've no hope? They just have to beat the Sheff U and they're safe. Haven't checked the odds but they must be around 4/1 against which isn't "no hope". Despite the Quinn brothers, Geary and Kenny playing for the Blades, I know who I will be up for.
That said, I'd sooner see West Ham stay up than Wigan as West Ham would be a bigger force in the Championship than Wigan. We could have 3 smallish clubs coming down in Watford, Charlton and Wigan which would suit the likes of Sheffield Wednesday looking to come back up.

I'd imagine any fond feelings he might have had would be well dissipated given the level of abuse he's got from them down through the years, something Keano never got.
Ummm.. he put one hand up in the air, and was hugged by his teammates. Hardly excessive.
