uefa.com are reporting that derry city will "most likely" take their place in the cl... makes no mention of shels being allowed to partake in it... seems to indicate derry will at least get the biggest benefit of winning the league... i.e a crack at the cl

Should we go back in history and look at the books of ever league Championship teams as far as possible and start redistributing medals?
They do not have a Premier License this year, so they play 1st Division football.
If their current license does not meet UEFA standards then someone would replace them. The Champions League representative is put forward by the league. They have full powers to put another team into that competition.
They also had a licence up until last night for this seasons league, does that not make you wonder what went on in the last 5 seasons?Quote:

Although that would be unfeasible, it would be the fair and just thing to do if concerns were raised as to the legitimacy of winning of the title. Going back to the most recent season ought to be convenient enough, however.Quote:

What I'm not sure of is if they did actually break rules. For example, was failing to pay players for weeks on end permissable under the 2006 rules? Are the 2007 rules any different?
