:D :D LOL!
gotta feel just a wee bit sorry for Waterford, though! :(

Just because an opinion differs from your own, doesn't make it ridiculous.
If you get 6,000 fairplay to you but everyone knows that it's a meaningless competition and with a hectic schedule like yours, if people are forced to choose, I'd bet they'll skip this sideshow.
Good luck to you though.
At least it pushes a Setanta Cup spot down the table.
With the new seats, Brandywell probably is now reduced to 6,000 - 7,000 for non-Euro games.
I thought practice for Cup finals was to look at both teams average attendances and allocated tickets in relation to that - Shels will get aw many as they need - although many will be for terraces.
Brandywell will be full as it has been for every League Cup Final we previously hosted - and the resylt of the UEFA Cup game will be irrelevant. Shels are a big draw in Derry because we love to hate them so much - that alone will bring the crowds out.
The fact the top two teams in the country have qualified for the final would indicate that the cream has risen to the top.
I'm not going to argue that it is as important as the League or the FAI cup (as we have consistently rested our 1st choice players in each round), but I do know that its a trophy, it gets us into the Setanta and if Cork were in it you sure as hell wouldn't be referring to it as a sideshow.
As for our fans chosing, fortunately its easier for a fan to participate in two matches a week than a player.
There's always that of course.
Can't see Shels bringing many on a week night and I wouldn't be critical of your fans if they gave this one a miss.
They've shelled out a fair few quid already this season.
£25 into the PSG game and the cost of the trip to Paris is enough without sandwiching this fixture in between and then a trip to Tolka on the 22nd.

But a good performance and even a result against PSG and we'll have 2000 - 3000 Bandwagoners looking for tickets on the Monday night.
Personally - Paris is looking like a cheap trip for a lot of us - I'm paying about £110 including 2 nights hotel, so what's another £10 - sure the Credit Union in Derry apparently still has a few quid to loan out:D
Is it true that they've gone 24 Hours these days? :D
Like I said, fairplay if you get a big crowd but I won't be on here having a go if you don't. It's expensive following your team these days and the fixture congestion makes it even more so.
Pats, UCD and Longford can all tell you about poor crowds at LC Finals.
Or alternatively - history teaches us we'll end up with a treble, just like Jim McLaughlin....
Minnows like Kildare (though were'nt you Pat's before...?) might panic at the thought of being in multiple tournaments, but the big boys don't. That's why we have a strong enough squad to put out 2 different 11-man teams of quality. Both of which would probably beat your shower (whetehr that be Kildare or Pats....).
....so ure already settling with "any silverware now"
ah the downgrading begins.
As has been conclusively proven this season, your shower were unable to beat us in Richmond Park. So shut your treble hole!
So you are still Saints, though you're sporting a natty new Kildare avatar this season. Were they all out of Burberry....? ;) Or do you ride a horse bare back around the streets of Dublin ? :p
No downgrading - it's called not tempting fate or being too cocky. Qualities I suspect you wouldn't be too familiar with, given the certainty of your dismissals of our chances.
You may well get to grace my signature yet..... :D
I like horses.
But I don't like accumulators or trebles if you will. Shels for me - all hinges on what Fenlon and Bohs are at.
How can it be conclusive when we still have to play you on the 10th of November - and as far as I remember we got a draw, away from home when we weren't getting results in Dublin - remember you were the home team
And I see there was no mention of the 3-1 scoreline from the Brandywell in that post of yours
yeah cos i was waiting for you to say it.
we drew the first half 1-1, I notice you conveniently omitted that fact!
