Nice touch by Rovers on the bottom of the tickets.
"Tickets issued by Shamrock Rovers FC - 16 leagues and 24 cups" (15 or 16 not too sure). Is this normally on Rovers' tickets or just for this match I wonder?
Tickets will now be on sale outside the ground before the game.
The FAI backed down from their bizarre dictat and neutrals can now come along and watch us hammer the filth.
Also, have to say it's been a while since I've looked forward to a game this much. Really can't wait for it. Have heard of plenty of people who are staying away from it for obvious reasons which is a shame. Should be a cracking atmosphere in Tolka and hopefully both sides give us a decent game. Though I'd take the most boring of matches if the result was right. Following on from backing Bohs to beat Shels 2-1 last Friday, I'm going for 2-0 for us ;)
TV money works out at €5k for the 'home' side and €2.5k for the away side to the best of my knowledge.
I'd be confident enough of a Bohs win after our win last week against Shels. As far as I can make out a lot of the Bohs players will have played in this derby before: Rice, Byrne, Caffo, Harkin, Ward etc. but a lot of the Rovers team are young and have maybe one or two who have played in this game before. This may stand against Rovers or the young team they have might be energised by the atmosphere.
Suffice to say it is a big derby match and the only opportunity we have of meeting each other this year so despite Rovers having a 1st Division side it could be close enough.
The Bohs side? I'm assuming that both McGuinness and Farrelly are suspended for this one and with Hunt out and presuming Leech isn't cup tied I'd say the team will look something like;
---------------------O'Brien--------------------
Rice--------Ferguson------Caffery------Byrne
Harkin------Joxer-------Heary----------Ward
-------------Devlin------Leech-----------------
Needless to say I can't Fücking wait for the match and at least common sense prevailed regarding the availability of tickets.
C'mon de Bohs!
I reckon farrelly is a big loss to bohs as is kevin hunt, both top quality midfielders.Good to hear about the tickets, common sense from the fai,I can't believe it
It's not the first time either..
As for the game, the pressure is on Boez, they have to win and are largely expected to win. The longer it is 0-0, the better and despite whatever team Boez put out they should in theory beat us.....but that's not necessarily the case :ball:
apparently the fai have backed down and tickets are on sale on the night now
Fair point, still think farrelly brings a lot to the bohs midfield though. He is a very good passer and is well able to score goals and is bohsfans 100% sure he isn't suspended as a manager due to him getting sent off against bray for protesting about the fourth goal
Expected to win by who?? This year,Quote:

Nobody can predict the outcome of a Rovers-Bohs game, ever. You can't predict it in the league, so you certainly can't predict it in the cup in a car-crash style, one-off grudgematch.
dfx is right, they are expected to win as they are all full-time professionals in the premier and have just beaten this years champions but I think this will suit us as you couldn't blame them for being cockey especially against a first division team full of kids.As illustrated in the recent programs, our boys are up for this game and know the importance of it to the fans and if they go into the game with the right attitude I think we will win
