Noel Cantwell, recently deceased Ireland legend, also played cricket for Ireland.
Johnny Murphy played for a while with Arsenal and Ireland youths with David O'Leary packed it in and came home to play rugby with Greystones and Leinster. Also had try outs with the Dallas Cowboys as a kicker  .
wws - have you got a source for this? I've done a considerable amount of research into Gogarty and this is news to me. He won a silver for poetry for 'Ode to the Tailteann Games' in Paris in 1924 but I'm not aware of him competing in any other Olympic disciplines. His Bohs career ended in 1899 so his foray into the Olympic arena was a quarter of a century away.Quote:
