The only shock when Ollie left was that he didnt leave sooner. The only hope I can drag out of his departure is that the other players realise how good he was and try and play better to make up for his loss. But seriously were f**ked!!!!!!!!

Ive been thinking about this for a while now, but at this point i reckon we are almost certainly better off without Cahill.Reason? well here goes.
City have depended on him too much in recent seasons, and us fans would get on his back when things werent working out. Now that he is gone Gunther is going to have to adjust his 'tactics', and maybe we will become less predictable.
He is not a judas though, and anyone who says he is, is an idiot
While I wouldnt say that we are certainly going to be better off without him, I feel that you could be right. As Niamh said, he can go MIA alot of the time and seeing as we depended on him so much, when he didnt turn it on, the team didnt play well. When was the last time Ollie had a stinker and City won? You'd have to go back years Id say.Quote:

Exactly, he was a very good player, but not as consistent as we needed him to be.
he is gone. full stop. lets just get on with it.
I don't care how good he was, nobody is indispensable.
This could be looked upon like when Skippy joined Shels all those years ago yet we actually got better. (and Skippy did have his worst time in football. De ja vu here I wonder/hope?)
Its like the old saying, no one player is bigger than the club.Quote:

I don't hope he has a stinker at Shels, except against City of course. The boy done well and deserves more success than City can give him in their current situation.
The reality is we've lost one of the best players in the league when he's on form, but we've got to stop moaning and calling him a Judas and get on with life.
Ah now Colm Paul Byrne from boh's is pretty big. if it was no one is bigger than the club I'd say look a P Dolan.
spot on. he will be a big loss, but better have someone there who wants to stay at the club. If ollie had been forced to stay, he would have been disinterested and no great use to us.Quote:

So we're all agreed then; we are lucky that Ollie has finally f€ccked off & Shels are screwed now that they have such an inconsistant player! ;)

that seems to me like people clutching at straws.
we have lost our best player for the last 5 years +
how can that be a good thing?
with gunther at the helm and no ollie..div 1 here we come..
WHY? whereas ollie might have saved us ...gotten us a few wins last year..whothe**** is going to be able to rise aboive the mediocracy of the team and get us those wins now
I for one am not happy with him gone and i think the rest of ye are gone a bit mad in the head.. ( not you joe.. dont wry boss):D :D
and i'm getting a mighty bit fed up with eanna yo yo-ing from one definate opinion to the next depending on whats popular to say on the foot.ie boardsQuote:

ollie: we're screwed without him dont go ollie......to now where we have eanna is glad we have lost our best player, and match winner..
UNfcukinBELEIVABLE
I'm not denying he's a big loss, but at the end of it all, he was never as consistent as he should have been, and he was only 1/11th of the team!
For only about the 50th time, I never said I hated morley, and I never said I loved him- it's just another story you're after drumming up in your head.
Am I right in saying that played in every game last season, but only scored in 5 of them?Quote:

think so troy, didnt he get 6 or 7 goals though.. but yea AFAIK he played in every game
i mean we were a **** poor team for most of last year and its very hard to raise your game when the team is ****e, the manager is ****e and the crowd are on your back and discontented.. not to mention the shambles of a club we were
ollie for him is better off away from city even though i'd love him to have stayed and cant imagine us doing anythingf at all without him next year..
this whole no one man is bigger then a team line.. is and it isnt true.. take ollie out of last years team.or any city team from the last 2/3/4 years..(even an inconsistent ollie) and what had we..
asa match winner / attaacking force..
NOTHING
but of course taking ollie out of the side might give others the chance to shine and take on responsibility...
so the question then becomes which one of them can do it, and would they be as effective as ollie.. and while this until next season remains unanswered... i for one without billy woods to replace him ..hold very very little hope
ROLMAO.Quote:
