Nope; Monday games are bad for me.
Would be nice to score a goal sooner rather than later. Purely going on Friday's game, we're actually tighter at the back than last year, which is good. Just we've no striker. Could of decent goalscoring wingers playing out of position up front maybe, but no out-and-out striker.
Galway bate Mayo.
Report: Galway FC 2-0 Mayo League
Mustn't have had Willie Joe then.
When is 2nd Round draw?
Second round draw below, ties to be played May 5th or 6th as said above.
Pool 1: Cork City v Waterford United
Pool 1: Wexford Youths v Cobh Ramblers
Pool 2: Galway v Finn Harps
Pool 2: Sligo Rovers v Derry City
Pool 3: Bray Wanderers v Dundalk
Pool 3: Drogheda United v Shamrock Rovers
Pool 4: Bohemians v St Patrick’s Athletic
Pool 4: Longford Town v Mervue United
EDIT: Posted ahead of me.
Financially for Harps and Galway a poor draw but in terms of progress both sides will be happy enough with that.
Yeah, just a reminder than pools finish at this round (ie the quarter finals are open draw)
There'll be at least 3 non PD teams in the quarters too
Wonder what kind of mind set the waterford players will be in for the game today can't be easy for them.. good chance for some of our fringe players to show what they can do.. raining away here today so attendance sure to be down from what we would expect.
Any teams looking like going full strength in the league cup?
I'd say we will be strong enough but I'm sure the likes of Dave o'leary Ian turner rob lehane and Matt gledhill in goals should get some game time.. maybe davoren for a start too.. this is the only trophy I haven't seen us win so really want it to happen
We'll have our second team out for it, so PFAI player of the year Killian Brennan and Champions player of the year Greg Bolger will start for us :)
Rovers 1 up at Drogheda after two minutes. More or less the same team that played Bohs last Monday except Finn and McPhail are in. Dundalk 2-0 up in Bray now, two in five minutes.
Dundalk started a totally different 11 compared to their game against Cork
We have 3 starters from Saturday night.
