I think this was explained before I'll try puncuating what he may have said in his LANDUN drawl ..."it was, like, a racist remark" or "it was ....like ...a racist remark" in much the same way that we Limerick folk or our Corkonian neighbours might call Clinton "an awful muppet who owes us a couple o'goals like" :D

I wonder if Clinton and roy get on well. They both like bad* rappers, they both have their little bad* rapper catchphrases and intonations. Maybe they should make a record... :eek:

Who said it was awful? He could have called him anything that Clinton felt didn't deserve punishment by FIFA/UEFA. The reason he brought it up now is because we're playing the Swiss and he said he wanted to celebrate in Frei's face if he scored.

If I was in college in Africa and I someone said something about my skin, I wouldn't go and tell the dean. I'd like to get my revenge in another way.

Nothing wrong with getting pumped up for the game but to make up something like this is just wrong. Morrisson should apologize as he has tarred Frei without a shred of proof. More than a little dangerous when everyone is willing to accept one side's story of a racist comment. Indicative of PC-ism (or neo-marxist thought control) gone out of hand.

I haven't heard many people calling Frei a racist but we can't just dismiss the claims and call Clinton a liar. We don't know what happened so can only speculate. You are not speculating as you are plain and simply saying Frei didn't say anything to Morrison.

It's funny how you say Frei is "innocent until proven guilty" then call Morrison a liar when you're "without a shred of proof" that he's not telling the truth.

I'm more likely to believe Frei and disbelieve Morrisson based on the preponderance of the evidence to date. People have jumped all over Frei without considering the possibility that Morrisson is full of it. Let's look at the facts shall we.

1. Morrisson does not mention the alleged statement for 11 months. One would think that he would mention it after the game or at least within a week or so of the game.

2. Morrisson will not repeat the specifics of the alleged statement which allows one to cast apersions at to its veracity. I think we are all big enough to hear at least a paraphrased version of what Frei allegedly said.

Frei has already shown his temperment isn't what it should be. (Excessivly inappropriate celebrations last year - spitting at people at the world cup, lying about it)


A number of posters have jumped all over Frei without any real proof. Put another way, Morrisson's claim couldn't stand up in a court of law and, quite frankly, I am surprised that Frei doesn't sue him for slander. Without further proof, I think Morrisson's comment was inappropriate.

Only Bowsy out of that list linked the word racist directly with Frei. koneinc only said there was no excuse for racism. And jollyrodger said that he was a scumbag, which he is.

Guilty of Scumness. Surely we dont need to personally know someone to be allowed to brand them appropriately from their actions.

Similarly- We cant call Clint a liar because Deep Fat Frier says he knows coloured people at his club and hes never burnt them out of their houses.

Similarly, we cant call Crisp'n'Dry a racist because we'll never know the truth of what was said. Thats between Clint and himself. Not that we would have known even if Clint came out and said it 11 months ago. As far as Im aware, players dont carry microphones.

But we do have enough evidence for scumdom. Scum is as scum does. Caught on camera. Guilty. You, sir, are scum.

Fair enough. Racist is a very severe tag to dish out without any evidence, especially in this day and age. I apologise for that. I will not temper my view of Frei though. Anybody who spits at someone is a disgusting human being in my opinion. It's a vile and incredibly insulting act.
