lads i have recently moved to the waterford league and find it extremely annoying and frustrating that the league has no website with up to date fixtures,results and league tables.Other local leagues such as kilkenny and tipp south have websites and are regularly updated,have the clubs ever raised this issue with the legue?its the 21st century lads even a simple blog or facebook page would do as long as it was updated on a regular basis.
ferrybank beat st saviours last night 2-1 . ferrybank prob deserved points in disappointing game . would have expected saviours to push on from last season. maybe unfair to judge em so early in season , but they will need to improve to match last seasons performance. must agree totally with "kneebandage" , it is time WDL moved into the electronic age.
Any more results from weekend, green and white?
no other prem games played , prob due to all- ireland final.
Fair comment re WDL moving into the electronic age - what about all the clubs? This thread is more like a Carrick Utd thread than a Waterford District league thread. Fair dues to Carrick but where are the rest?Quote:

Carrick regain Premier top spot

IT was business as usual for Carrick United as the took all three points from an out of form and injury hit St. Saviours, a goal a piece for Anthony Power and Thomas Fitzgerald pushed Carrick back to the top of the Waterford Premier League.
With all the experience that Carrick have plus a large squad of player the reining champions will take some shifting from the top of the table.
Carrick United were quick out of the blocks as they hit the Saints with a goal after just two minutes play.
Bobby Landers took on the home defence before playing the ball into the feet of Thomas Fitzgerald, the Carrick striker fed Anthony Power and he drove a powerful left foot shot into the net from twenty five yards past Graham Cleary. The Saints keeper was in action again four minutes later when he saved well from Eoin Burke.
Things got worst for St. Saviours when Arron O’Neill left the pitch with a bad leg injury O’Neill was replaced by Paul Gahan the substitute whipped in a cracking cross from the right on twenty eight minutes and defender Alan Redmond was forced to head the ball away at the expense of a corner kick while under pressure from Joe Twomey.
Ten minutes later Graham Cleary had to be at his best to save a free kick taken by the Carrick midfield player Alan Ryan. In the dying seconds of the first half Joe Twomey ran on to a pass from Kevin Dolan but his curling shot from the right went narrowly wide of the back post.
Saints manager Alfie Hale rang the changes at half time as Stephen Dalton was introduced to replace Trevor Elliott, this gave St. Saviours more pace upfront and they almost drew level on the hour mark when Paul Gahan got his head to a driven Brian Arrigan cross but Adrian Walsh showed his class with a brilliant save.
Carrick went two up on sixty five minutes, John Walsh sent over a deep cross from the right. Alan Coady headed the ball into the path of Thomas Fitzgerald and the striker swept the ball into the net from close range. St Saviour’s never gave up the fight and they got back into the game with a fine goal from Stephen Dalton.
From mid field Joe Twomey played a pass that somehow got past two Carrick defenders and Dalton raced onto to it before drawing Walsh from line and Dalton slotted home to throw the Saints a life line.
Now it was St. Saviours who were on the attack and with eight minutes left on the clock they went close to an equaliser, Kevin Dolan fed Gerry Connors who raced into the penalty area but Adrian Walsh was quick off his line to block Connors close range effort.
One minute later at the other end Carrick thought they had scored a third when Glen Keane finished from close range after Fitzgerald had struck the upright but Keane’s goal was disallowed for offside.
It is now four defeats in a row for St. Saviours, however pre season the Saints were tipped to be in the title shake up but at the moment it looks as if they will have one hell of a battle to finish in mid table. Carrick on the other hand move back to the top of the Premier League table a position they have held over the last decade.
JOHNVILLE 2 WATERFORD CRYSTAL 2
A SECOND half strike from Johnville substitute Jamie Flynn was good enough to give his side a share of the spoils against a disappointing Waterford Crystal challenge at St. Martinís Park on Sunday morning last, with the latter missing key players up front.
The league leaders were without their striking duo of Paul Quilty and Joe Watson as they couldnít pick up all three points against a home side that fought and battled to the final whistle to grab another point that could prove crucial at the end of the season.
Crystal went into this game on the back of a five nil drumming of Ferrybank and manager Niall Hogan would have been hoping to build on that result but they just couldnít add a third goal once they put their heads in front in this fixture and paid the price at the final whistle.
However, one would have to give credit to Johnville as they went at their opponentsí from the opening whistle and they got off to the perfect start on three minutes when Gavin McLawrence whipped in a right-wing cross, which wasnít dealt with by Crystal keeper Derek Hearne and Gary Kelly fired home from 12 yards.
It took a brilliant save from the visiting netminder to keep his side in the contest on nine minutes when Gavin Phelanís free kick from the right was flicked on by Valdo Bulvais into the path of Pat Browne, however his close range effort was superbly kept out by the former Irish International.
Crystal were back on level terms with their first real chance of the game on 13 minutes when Liam Coady was fouled out on the right and when Keith Sheridan whipped in the resulting free kick, full back Mitchell Casey powered a header to the roof of the net for his first goal since returning from injury.
There was a lot of midfield play for the majority of the first half before Crystal broke for the lead goal on 37 minutes when Sheridan did well down the left channel and after he fired the ball to the back post, centre forward Niall OíToole was on hand to blast home from close range.
Conor Fell went close to adding a third goal for his side three minutes before the half time whistle when he latched onto a Liam Coady knockdown, however despite turning onto his left-foot, the midfielder dragged his left-footed shot inches wide of the right upright.
Crystal looked comfortable for the opening 25 minutes of the second half as neither side looked like scoring but all of that was soon to change as Derek Hearne was called into action to make a decent stop to deny Valdo Bulvais on 71 minutes.
But there was nothing that the Crystal number one could do to prevent a Johnville equalising goal less than two minutes later as from the resulting corner kick, the ball fell to Gary Kelly, who put the ball on a plate for Jamie Flynn and he steered a right-footed effort to the bottom left-hand corner of the net from 14 yards.
As the visitors pressed for the lead, Mitchell Casey was just off target with a header following a Sheridan corner kick on 82 minutes before Leo Jacques flashed a header over the crossbar seconds later after a superb cross from Alan Ryan.
Both sides missed glorious chances to snatch all three points in the dying minutes when firstly, Conor Fell set up Liam Coady, however he somehow managed to blaze wide of an open goal when he should have hit the target. It was Pat Browne that missed a superb opportunity in the final whistle when firing wide at the back post following a James Casey cross from the left and following four minutes of second half injury time, the two teams had to be happy with a share of the spoils.

rumours of alleged " betting scams " in TSDL games surely spreads alarm amoung all in junior circles.
How can any bookmakers get permission to price up matches?
Do they need permission to do so?
Are there any rules involving players/members betting on clubs own games?
also strong rumours that prominent club bet on themselves for last seasons FAI cup .
