Finally got Barbara Morgenstern's- The Grass Is Always Greener.
So far so good. Single "The Operator is by far the stand out.
Went on a binge last week culminating in The Horrors album. Wow.
new white denim album. Any fans?
Have bought a few this year but the stand out is definitely Fox Jaw Bounty Hunters' "The Devil In Music".
Band called Amplifier from Manchester. Their newest album The Octupus. Absolutely unbelievable band. If you like your modern heavier prog rock, you NEED to listen to this band.
Picked up a copy of this lately, would actually recommend it, 19 fairly decent tracks spread across a lot of different genres.

The last CD I bought was Harps of Donegal! Prior to that, I was in HMV in Inverness recently and picked up The National's eponymous debut album and 'Bandwagonesque' by Teenage Fanclub. I'm loving the sound of The National debut, very much a country rock twang to it, not dissimilar to some of the later Byrds stuff. I'm loving track no.2 in particular, entitled 'Cold Girl Fever'.
Recently got White Noise Sounds album debut album

Anyone remember Screaming Trees? Possibly my favourite band from the mighty 90's. Broke up before that decade was over but their 'Last Words' unreleased album turned up in the mail this morning.

Received the following in the post today:
Future Islands- On the Water. Excellent stuff. On listen no. 5. still holding up and slowly getting into my head.
Foster the People- Torches. Horrendous album. One decent track and even then. Last time I bought an album with less research was Funeral and before that was God Shuffled His Feet. 1/3 is a terrible ratio. This will definitely be chalked up as a lesson.
The Naked and Famous- Passive Me, Aggressive you. Liking it. Will take a few listens. The sort of album is handy to have about the place.
Florence and the Machine- Ceremonials. For the GF. That's all I can say. Haven't even ripped it.
