I think it's been mentioned already that it has nothing to do with passports. Irish citizenship is a birthright for those born in Northern Ireland. They don't necessarily require a passport to exercise it or identify as Irish. A passport simply amounts to a form of identification.Quote:

They would have been better off shutting up and playing the suffering sheep card. I'm trying to think from the IFA's perspective, what is point 3 going to be? Even making the argument that many players have been capped at U21 and lower levels for Northern Ireland, point 2 is the key to declaring or switching allegiances (with every FIFA nation).
Maybe CAS or the IFA fancy renegotiating the Good Friday agreement?
