I was at the Junior International against the Isle of Man and Paul Scully wasn't playing; how could he? He is ex-League of Ireland.

that was one post that was cleared up by the rest of us that paul was not involved so that has zilch to do with what were talking about
just looked at the website, its FAI weekend why are town playing tipp cup game?
In actual fact, Tommy Lewis put him in his place. He seemed to be prepared for that topic. When Muiris made his complaint about fixture congestion, Tommy was able to state how many weekends were booked off and how many off due to bereavement. He went on to talk about how many weekends were lost on the Munster senior cup, and how he will look to have junior teams removed from that competition from season 2010/11, despite it being his proposal the first got junior clubs involved. Also if fixtures had been spread out to suit Town then some teams wouldn't have had a fixture for up to a month, and thats hardly fair either.....
Muiris was left speechless
wel see how quickly tommy changes his mind about the munster senior cup if saints win the league. I dont think he would mind the fixture congestion if he could get cork city playing in cooke park. I think he will try to pull out if town were set to host a big club or god forbid, celtic or peake
Why do you want the MJC Cup game against Bridge on this Sunday? They have until the 24th Jan to play this game. Why aren't Town playing their FAI game this weekend like everyone else?? Are they missing players or something? The FAI has always taken priority over the Tipp Cup I don't get this.
The Town game vs Bridge is down to be on in nxt wkend ( prov) I don't get this either if Town aren't playing theri FAI Cup game this weekend or next weekend what's going on??
Town and Michaels do have influeneces over the league and do play when they feel like it and when they have full teams available. Last year Bridge and Town were down to play and Town cancelled the game as certian players were gone to the Ireland rugby game in Dublin.
When was the last time anyone has seen Town without nearly a full strength team?
If they are missing any of their main players the game gets called off cause they have no good players from the B team to bring in.
Just to add Muiris Walsh is an excelent man and is a true football fan get off his case. Any club would give anytin to have a man with his dedication and commitment to drive the club forward.
I think to be fair, Thurles Town and Valley Rovers have to play next Sunday. the following sunday then is Oscar Traynor. I can't comment on Town having influence but i would point to their fixtures at the end of last season. I have seen Town play with understrength sides
Don't get me wrong, its not an anti-town comment, and I have a great time for Muiris, he is a football man. I just wanted to set the story straight. I am in full agreement with the arguement about Tommy Lewis being at St. Michaels man, far to much favouritism for me.
With regards to Towns fixture pile up I think that they were just victims of their own success. in years gone by at that latter stages of the season there are normally a number of walkovers given and last year it didnt turn out like that. I think each club is as important as the next regardless of size or success. Some of the smaller clubs or ruaral ones always suffer because of gaa or small numbers and by the time the end of the season comes around these teams have nothing to play for and as is the case every year they find it hard to field teams. I think the whole fixture list needs to be looked at. there are a number of fixtures scheduled at the start of each season and it is widely accepted that this is to accomadate st michaels or clonmel town with their expected runs in the fai and munster junior. Maybe this can still be done but allow the smaller clubs stay with the sunday fixture only. this way it gives teams more to play for longer into the season. Fixtures should be done fairly with everyones benefit looked after as much as is possible. On a side note I think most clubs would love to have that type of fixture congestion.
its a tricky one as other teams should not have to go weeks without a fixture but surely if for example town had a chance of bringing the fai junior cup to tipperary the league should have weighed in behind them as opposed to hammering them,if for example it was saints as ron pointed out there is no doubt mr lewis would have done everything to help them, but town get plenty of favours too in other ways but undoubtedly everything is in place for saints to be successful, they run the league, celtic and villa cannot even get a fair refereeing display,it will be a long long time before villa, celtic or anyone take the title away from town or saints
lads from an outsider point of view clonmel town do not really get favours, they had to play a game every 3,4 days at end of last season,am i correct??rarely get a weekend off?just a little thing but lewis tried refix a MJC youths game for a home venue after home team called game off week before. am i correct in saying home team loses home advantage after cancelling game??Lad from clonmel on radio promotes your league brilliantly , get behind him as i wish we had a footballing man like that on the radio promoting our league, which badly needs it fairly.
no you lose home advantage, you get one chance to play a cup game at home and if for any reason you have to cancel you forfeit home advantage, not even tommy lewis can change that
Iv heard that there is talks of having matchesn on de 27th of Dec,obviously de day after Stevens Day,can anybody shed any light on this, any truth in it???
no prizes for guessing where that info came from:)
