Rated the 16th best player in the Premiereshipand he has plenty of end product, he might not be the best passer but he can put in a good cross and corner.

Would he have stood a better chance of staying up with Wolves especially if he went to Wolves if you know what I mean. I think so but we will find out in a few months.

possibly, but at his age he should be better than what he is, I like the lad for his commitment but as I say his game lacks technique and he fails to do the simple things well.

You have to take your hat off to Hunt. He wasn't even getting his game with Brentford when Coppell took over. Then Coppell took him to Reading, where he was no more than a squad player in the year Reading achieved promotion. He continued to progress and made the position his own on the left of midfield. Then he went on to be transferred for a few million. Not bad for a Brentford reserve at 21.

and turned out to have an ego the size of Griffin Park!He definitely has done well for himself,but in my opinion pace and workrate are his only attributes. His basic technical ability is awful, and as somebody above said, he cannot do the simple things. However its his outspoken idiocy that really iritates me. I've never disliked an Irish player so much

Brian Lara was only 5'8. There is less distance between the eye and the ball you are striking so that should help.
Also he took a short run up, only a couple of steps, if you pace that out correctly it's probably hard to put it over the top. just make sure you are not leaning back when you strike the ball.

I think I have further evidence, I'm 6ft and would be guaranteed to hit a satellite!

Hunt given man of match in sky sports "He gave a terrific all-action display", he provided the corner kick for the goal.
He also put in some other good free kicks and I think those who say he lacks technique do not realise how good his
free kicks are. The key word being end product.

His managers must think he takes a decent set piece as they choose him to take them.

Either he has good technique/gets lucky/has bad technique but gets good results/has crazy managers that just like watching Stephen Hunt taking set pieces for some reason unknown to man or science.

Hunt, Doyle, Duff and Dunne are the players who are doing it for their clubs on a consistent enough basis. They are our best performing senior players by a country mile.

He's definitely premiership standard, a bit frustrating at times but his work rate, set piece delivery and goals ratio are all first rate. Even if hull get relagated he'll remain in the top flight. There would be plenty of clubs interested im sure if they do go down.

Hunt is the complete opposite of McGeady.

Ugly style of play, combative, hard working, direct....but I think the key is effectiveness. Even though Hunt will take the wrong option quite often, he will more than show his worth by scoring a goal at a key time for his club, or hitting a very good set piece or corner that leads to a goal.

In terms of effectiveness it's hard to criticize him, even though his style is very unconventional (and frustrating) at times.

If your team has less of the ball, I think he's a great player to have, as he will put the opposing players under pressure, and give them less time on the ball; however, if you're trying to control a game, he lacks the guile or technique to keep possession.

Now most football people would like us to play a possession game, but against certain teams this is unlikely, if we are being realistic. I'm glad we've got him, even though I wouldn't always start him.

I was not really watching it much to be honest, he was asked some question was IIRC about which English player has appeared (or will appear) in the League cup final for 3 different teams.
Which after a conference he got correct (Heskey).

It's not really the same without Emlyn Hughes ;)
