No I dont think this is correct, I was told proper procedure was followed and he was indeed offered a contract.
This won't be huge money that Derry need to pay, but it will be in the region of 8-10k I think.

Danny North re-signs

I'm pretty satisfied with our off-season business so far. Slight disappointment - but not much - about Lynch and Elding going, and slight reservations - but not a lot - about North; otherwise we've kept most of the players I'd like us to have kept and I'm happy enough seeing Ventre and Davoren go. We're still missing a playmaker - it remains to be seen whether we can get Djilali back, but if not we need Baraclough to find a high-quality replacement. We also need another good striker.
Djilali will definitely be back for Sligo. No question at all.
The only area they look weaker is at the back. Davoran is a better left full than Ledwith. Apart from that they're in good shape (as are the other 2 teams from last year's top 3).
Rumour has it that Ryan Brennan is on the verge of joining Shamrock Rovers on a 2 year deal.
Havent seen enough of Ledwith to comment on that. The trouble with Davoren is that he just seems to pick up injuries ... played 18 times this year and only 14 times in 2012. When he is playing he cant train every day either from what I hear. Bara seems to be going for younger players with points to prove in certain positions. Also we have Gaynor for left back, he's an Ok defender at this level but his positioning can be suspect.
Edit: he could have been ran after that sh_it with John Terry the night we won the league, a lot of people were p!ssed off over that.
Rovers let all their midfielders go, remember? Even Finn might not be staying. Unless Croly is planning on bussing in a load of players from Europe, it looks like whoever he signs will get game time.
edit: Am I correct that Ryan Brennan is the youngest Brennan? The one who looks least like a Brennan?
If the rumours of Bradley coming in to replace Finn are true, I might start supporting Dundalk.
What was the John Terry thing?
Did people really get annoyed about that? What's the big deal?
I had no problem with at all with the John Terry thing - people complain that there are no characters in football any more. Dav's generally a good player, with a big plus side to him, but prone to occasional horrible, and costly, lapses in concentration.
