Euro08... Lost to decent German side in Q/F (2-3)
WC10... Lost to great Spanish side in last 16 (0-1)
Euro12... Very unlucky to lose to great Spanish side in semi final (0-0, p2-4)
They've generally had nice footballers but lacked a real goalscoring No.9... the likes of Postiga, Nuno Gomes and Pauleta were never really world class which made them quite limited against the best sides. Now that Ronaldo is filling that role and more, I'm not sure they have the quality of midfielders that the once had.
Very good read on King. Stating the obvious but I really hope the two games go well for him. Pity Brady isn't available seeing as he seems such a fan and a blow with Westwood also, just as he has got his club career back on track.
