Armoured - average. Bog standard action movie.
Holmes - awful.
A prophet - the first 30 minutes are brilliant. It dips a little after that but it's still an excellent movie.
The Experiment, Adrian Brody and Forrest Whittiker....Complete rubbish!!!
Based on that experiment that was done in the 70's with 24 men in a prison with some as guards and some as prisioners. Had potential but was just shockingly bad!

Scott Pilgrim vs the world.
Very silly but very good. 8/10
Just watching This is England and I feel sick. Dont know how I will sleep tonight. God almighty. There is nothing more despicable than racism.
Watched Toy Story 3 the other day, good fun
Just watched four lions, not Chris Morris best work but still pretty funny?
Went to see "The Last Exorcism" last night and my exact reaction was "meh". It's a mediocre horror, takes an interesting enough approach with a slow build, I've no problem with slow films but in this case it was meant to draw you in and make it believable as well as make the characters sympathetic and I just didn't think it really worked. The ending is also a bit on the poor side. There's a couple of nice scares but I just wasn't draw in enough to really go for them.
If your a horror fan than check it out, if not don't bother you'll hate it. As a horror fan I'd still only give it a 5.5/10. The missus is also a big horror fan and she found it a bit more engaging and would probably have given it a 7 or 8.
Watched Highlander last night. 7/10 for sheer cult status.
"There can be only one!"
Watched "Salt" the other day. Not a bad film but by the end of it the entire film seemed like a trailer for Part 2
Watched Dinner with shmucks. If you like Steve Carell, if you really really like Steve Carell, then go watch it. Pretty funny in parts. Brainless but watchable.
Dinner for Shmucks - Not nearly as bad as I expected. Had some very funny moments, just need to leave your brain at the door.
The Other Guys: Complete drivel. An abomination, how so many "A" list actors were in it is beyond me.
Struggling to even remember one funny part.
Watched The Expendables with my boss, she's a massive fan of the old bash and crash heroes (it's not Sylvester Stallone to her but Sly, while Arnie is her hero), and while the dialogue and acting is at points awful - I tihnk Jason Statham looked as if he was thinking "is it wrong for me to think I'm letting myself down here", there was a little too much blood splashing about, like the latest Rambo, though the piece where Stallone and Statham flew in and blew up a pier was pretty cool.
Watched "Stay Cool" on Friday and despite a pretty decent cast it's just so boring and slow. I can't remember the male lead, but he had about as much chemistry with Winona Ryder than, I don't know, it was poor. Some funny bits, Sean Astin was really trying hard, but it just didn't happen.
Saw Four Lions in the cinema with my sister, slow but funny, love the "F++k them babybels" bit, had us in stitches. Also when the crow man had his mishap crossing the wall, and the incident with the rocket launcher at the training camp.
saw the secret is in their eyes(think thats the name. argentinian film . very good.
Mona Lisa, on the box a couple of nights ago. Cracking film still. 8/10.
Watched Knight and Day last night and found it a really good movie. It's Bourne Light with lots of comedy and Tom Cruise is excellent. While never an admirer I think Cameron Diaz is really aging badly, she's a good actress, but she just looked as if she'd had a feed of pints before filming. 8/10.
Seen Robin Hood last night. I really enjoyed it apart from a couple of ridiculous things towards the end which were totally unneccesary. It probably should have been called Robin Hood Begins because I think its obvious they are trying to set it up to be a trilogy
Didn't think it was that bad. It was trying way too hard at times but there was still a few funny moments. I'd say it's a solid 3/5, entertaining enough but never going to make any film of the year lists.
Edit just to say you really have to at least find Will Ferrell amusing, if you don't like him then stay well away.
Shutter Island-8/10,De Caprio good as a cop an investigating goings on in a mental asylum.
I kind of knew the plot too much before seeing it and other than that I would have scored it higher.
Fans of the original Predator movie with Arnie should enjoy Predators. Its not as good but its a hell of alot better than Alien vs Predator
I do find him amusing...but that was utter tripe...and to have a message about the whole financial melt down aswell...i just couldn't understand what it was trying to be...
They should have just left it as a movie with The Rock and Samuel L. Jackson at least there characters gave me a laugh!(kinda)
I don't know why - since it's generally gotten average to decent notices - but I hated it. Found it completely unthrilling, limp and quite sloppily directed. And Lawrence Fishburne was just redonkulously silly. Still the best Predator sequel yet, but it ain't saying much...
Saw The Road recently, really enjoyed it although it's quite a brutal watch at times. And it doesn't capture the book's uplifting aspects too well so fairly bleak all round.
"Pandorum",Dennis Quaid and a few others wake up after cyber sleep on a spaceship, they're not alone though, familiar type scenario but it's really well done,if you liked Alien type films you'll like this one-8.5/10
Just watched The Other Guys (Monday) and Wall Street 2 (tonight).
The Other guys, some very funny moments, Steve Coogan is as he always is, Marky Mark was good if nutty while Will Ferrell was odd and funny. Michael Keaton was funny too and eliminating two action stars to begin with was brilliant. I don't know how anyone can have watched it and not at least smile thinking of their final scene - it just resonated through the rest of the movie. Coogan's bribes to the police were funny, while Eva Mendes was just smoking - the dinner scene with Marky Mark was painful! 3.5/5
Wall Street 2 - solid, but not a patch on the original, Shia is no Charlie Sheen and there was a big too much moralising in it, without a proper punchline. The ending wimped out and was a bit too fuzzy, would have liked something similiar to The Departed to round it off. But it dealt with some issues well, though if anyone has even scant knowledge of what happened with the crisis and has any depth of thought, it's a bit too glossy. Didn't like the way it was cut, or the music, they just didn't match up. 2.5/5
"The Deaths Of Ian Stone": Guy gets repeatedly killed on consecutive days by creatures trying to get him to forget something.A bit like a horror version of Groundhog Day.I never heard of it before or any of the actors in it but I thought it was a really good film.8/10
Brooklyn's Finest - Snipes, Omar and Wee-Bay. What more could you want? Enjoyable cop movie. Richard Gere and Don Cheadle are also in it.
Rewatched Dirty Harry at the weekend and it still looks the business.
i thought Brooklyn's Finest was one of the worst movies i have seen in a while.
Go see The Social Network. Just go and see it.
Stop reading this, and go an see it.
But remember it is a fictionalised account of actual events
Watched The Shawshank Redemption the other night (bit late with that, I know). Quality film.
With all the David Fincher talk I re watched "Seven" last night, great film
Thought the Social Network was good but not quite as good as I thought it would be.
Just watched "Pusher" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117407/. Good gritty crime film 7.5/10
Red - Quite good fun if a little overlong
Malkovich is great in it .He is looking old these days!
Chanced upon a TV screening of "The Pursuit of Happiness" starring Will Smith and his young fella.
Pleasantly surprised.
A good performance by Smith - I genuinely hoped the character would win some respite over all of that adversity.
The on-screen bond between father and son was engaging and believeable (for obvious reasons!).
Paranormal Activity - Good show, not as scary as I thought it would be, also felt it was very short.
Anyone see the second one? Is it worth going to see?
