Yeah, I'm not blaming him, he just looked a long way off the pace.

Yeah, I'm not blaming him, he just looked a long way off the pace.
I can't understand why Ferguson played him at all, an unfit O'Shea is even more a liability than a fit O'Shea.
I came across a saying recently that I must put into use.... never argue with idiots, they will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience
O'Shea I'm afraid will never fulfill his potential as a footballer at this stage. I think he doesn't have the hardness that is required in good players.
What heights would he have needed to have reached by this point for you to consider him as having fulfilled his potential? I thought last season, with pretty-much a permanent first-team place in the United team and working with Trap on the international stage, was a defining or coming-of-age season for O'Shea. I admit, he was someone I had always doubted previously, maybe somewhat harshly at times, but he proved me wrong last season and now, rather than harbour anxiety and apprehension when I see him lining out for Ireland, I actually feel more secure with him in the starting line-up. Since when did being a hard man make a good player?
John O'Shea isn't a patch on Messi.
just not true.
i'm sure he has a nice pile of infractions by now.. hopefully he will go away eventually johns a legend
I just happen to think that O'Shea is not a composed and accomplised player thats all. He had such potential when he first came on the scene but he lacks confidence in himself I think to fullfill his potential.
I run an Irish board, and I act upon the posts, pictures myself.I certainly would not look at someones complaint especially if he had a Bohs(1-0) crest beside his name(That was a joke). Yapster has come over here from my board, but he does love his role. When he gets bored here he'll come home to annoy some more folk up over there. I think though he really does believe what he is saying is true.
My God, you've been at this for years?
Cant imagine what CF1989 got banned for since it seems to be ok to come on here consistantly with the specific intention to p1ss off people
he posted penises :)
Haha :)
We got Father Ted finally over here on BBCAmerica and it is a great show. Why didn't RTE make it rather than C4?
it was originally offered to RTE but they didn't like it so C4 stole in and just as well i think if RTE made it, it wouldn't be as good
It was originally offered to RTE but they were dead scared of offending the religious right in Ireland so they passed on it. This is stated in the DVD commentary.
Surprised at that, I'd always thought it was an urban legend about it being offered to RTE. Did the DVD commentary explain why they were going to come back to Ireland to make Father Ted? Mathews and Linehan were doing well in England at the time and returning here sounds like a backward career move.
I'm not sure, I'll re-watch the DVD commentary and post here once I do, probably some time next week.
Perhaps I'm mistaken:
from wikipedia:
Contrary to frequent rumours, Mathews and Linehan did not originally pitch the series to the Irish network RTÉ, but rather offered it directly to Hat Trick Productions and Channel 4 in the UK.
You can ask the man himself on Twitter :)

Also, O'Shea is on the bench for United today, but sounds like Neville is having a nightmare at right back at the moment.
I've personally heard Linehan deny it was ever offered to RTÉ. He said they just didn't do that sort of thing; there'd have been no point. Now, maybe the official line has changed at some point, so check out that commentary all the same. If it disagrees, that'd be interesting.
Neville was crap at the weekend, and brown is fouling every 2 mins tonight, i'd say Josh is pretty much sorted for right back for the season. Defo best of the 3 (i am of course ignoring the little one)
