Really? What happened?
Well it turns out that the reason for pushing it back to Thursday wasn't a conspiracy to ruin Limerick and an opportunity to pair it with their super-dooper-FAI event type thing (which I believe was to do with officially opening the full-size astroturf pitch or something to that effect). :)
So it would appear that the Bonners and Delaneys of this world are a bigger draw than the David Freemans!
Your rear end in parsley. Official figure was 832. They were spread out throughout the ground though.
It wasnt just about the opening of the Astro pitch by the way. There was a week long festival of football in the run up to tomorrow's FAI AGM in Monaghan and as it was the first time the Festival had come to a county with an LOI team it was only logical that there would be a game as part of that.
Jayz, fair dues. Always nice to see there's some potential!
When you consider that there were only about 30/40 Limerick there, it shows there is a potential, we need to get some FAI legends here every week to keep them coming back!
Hopefully we can build on it. The whole purpose of the Festival of Football week is to showcase what is going on in the county at every level of football and to use the publicity & good will of it all to build and make football stronger.
Fingers crossed!
Its a great initiative magicme, and it deserves success
Well done to all concerned
Dundalk V Derry, I was expecting a lot more but the crowd was given as 2,100 I think. Cant understand why it was so low for such a high profile game.
I would have estimated no more than 2,000 so this sounds about right.
About 1500 at Bray and Bohs
I think I got the figure of 2,100 wrong for Dundalk v Derry last night, appears there was more. So my post can be discounted now.
I would think it was around 2600-2800.
1250 at Galway Utd - Cork City.
I'd say 2,800 in Richmond tonight, about 1,300 Rovers.
440 in Finn Park last night
412 official attendance from Wexford v Athlone but to be honest thought about 550-600 myself dont know where then getting the figures from
130 someone told me in Kildare. I was thinking about 150 so it's fairly close.
Read it was 653 for shels against mervue. Its not a good sign for this divisions attendances when the best supported club who are also top get this sort of crowd, even if it was mervue
At least 5000 at The Showgrounds tonight.
I'm not good with numbers, though.
So what was the actual crowd attendance then?
The night is only young yet;)
Meh, around the crowd i had expected, probably about 1400-1500? I'm not great at estimating though, so expect them to come in there droves and argue about a few hundred people.
Not a clue how many drogs were down, couldn't see from where i was ag seasamh.
Wow, look at the damage a simple joke can do. :)
About 40 or so Drogs. Good for a Sunday night.
about 200 in Flancare yesterday for the Longford - Waterford match.
Longford are a jokeshop. Appalling and amateurish set up indicates that its only a matter of time for their future in senior football is questioned. To say Cronin has a huge job is an understatement.
How do they keep going on paltry attendances like that?
