Elliot is getting a lot of attention. Unlike Keane, however, Elliot has not played at the top level nor has he commanded the transfer fees that Keane has. Keane is not an poacher by any means but he is clearly an above-average striker playing at the top legvel of the English game. Put another way, would you really rate strikers such as Kevin Phillips or Craig Bellamy above Keane? I certainly wouldn't.Quote:

i am a huge keane fan but bellamy is a vastly superior striker
WHAT?????
Get offside will ye!! Playing with Alan Shearer improved Bellamy's game alright, but it also made him look a much better player than he actually is. Bellamy will be found out soon enough.
Bellamy is a pretty average striker,28 goals in 93 games for Newcastle says it all.Keane is 38 in 98 for Spurs.
Obviously we are going to talk up one of our own. It's a lot more interesting to speak about someone you can relate to then let's say an Italian or a German player. I don't think he has really been over-hyped at all, at least not in the past couple of years.Quote:

I didn't try to knock him down hard. For the good of his career and the good of our strike force we need someone who is playing first team football and imo he is not good enough to get that at Spurs
And Kanoute and Mido are?I dont think so.
spurs tried to flog kanoute to west brom and mido to zmalek on loan. that shud say where keane stands so hush
Well if keane is definatley ahead of those two in the pecking order then how come he lost his place towards the end of the season ?
Keano has been with more clubs than i've had hot dinners. This tells us much about the Tallaght man's personality and the type of pro he is. If I were Robbie, i'd stay put at the lane. Spurs are the more fashionable club with greater ambition and prospects than geordies. I cannot envisage Robbie mingling with the magpies in the cold north east. London is where its all happening and surely Robbie can see that..... Claudine won't fancy toon land one bit either for that matter. I don't see Robbie as an adequate long term replacement for Shearer. Souness traditionally doesn't tend to place faith in irish players and in my view Robbie's best staying away from that arrogant ****. Newcastle just doesn't seem right for Robbie.
What do others think?
Wolves to Coventry was a good move.Quote:

Then a positive move to Spurs.
That doesn't tell me much about the chaps' personality, it does tell me that sometimes you can be at the wrong place at the wrong time, twice.
Saviola offered to Spurs and Newcastle for free, according to this morning's papers, can't see him going for free, but he'd be a quality signing, and probably a starter in every game
i agree with qwerty
in all cases the onus was on him to move as the club wanted to sell him for various reasons and it was never him who instigated the move. just have to look at the good relations he still enjoys with wolves and coventry fans to this day
with bellamy gone i think he'd be a good fit at celtic
yeah might as well go to easy street and put his feet up at celtic ..ffs big club in very small pond not what robbie needs.. stay put he is the best striker at spurs imo and given time will show that ...Quote:

What was it? 23 starts in the premiership. I'd put Norwich at home on par with Hibs away and Aberdeen & Hearts are tough tests too. 12-14 European games most likely. 4-5 Old Firm games. Cup finals... Country comes first for me obviously and I'd love to see Keane at Celtic when Aliadiere leaves. Anyway, you're not allowed mention Celtic on this site anymore so lets leave it.Quote:
