UCC 1-0 Fermoy.
A goal from a corner five before half time settled this titanic struggle. Chances to both sides but we couldn't nail a score.
Hats of to UCC on the day and on behalf of Fermoy I'd like to place on record our thanks for being invited to be part of the Colours weekend celebrations.
Dale 3-2 Leeds. Dale two goals up after 10 mins. Leeds fought back to 2-2. Draw fairest result but Dale snatched it late.
Mud bath conditions with Leeds finding themselves very unlucky. Both teams played good football considering. Referee
John Thompson was very solid i felt.
Ballincollig 1-5 Castleview. I wasn't there lads due to family reasons but a hattrick by Mark Cambridge, 1 each for Gary Connolly and Kevin Garvey. Good win going to keep the pressure on the teams above especially with Fermoy losing. Break next week from the league with an away trip to Waterford Friday night!
Hi lads,
I'm new to this but have been following it for ages.
Love to hear all the opinions and predictions.
I heard Back of the Net are sponsoring a new competition that will see four MSL qualifiers and four AUL qualifiers enter a Champion's League style tournament to be held in late July.
Replica Champion's League trophy being done up for it.
Should be a fantastic competition.
College Corinthians (Keane Cup winners) and Wilton United (Mossie Linnane Cup winners) are the two clubs that have qualified so far.
Finally, a competition that will see the MSL take on the AUL.
I love your optimism "beautiful game" but that competition will not be taken seriously. Teams barely get ready in time for the Keane cup and with this competition starting before that i fear the interest in it will be limited .
Fantastic competition?.a team that are one of the favourites to be relegated from the premiers senior league and a team of over rated glory hunter juniors are in it and your predicting a good tournament?.avondale or even rockmount for that matter would win it with their second string.aul teams wouldn't last v senior teams.there is a reason why aul players are junior and not senior.nuf said
Harsh words there Chief! But I can't see anybody giving that tournament a right go!why not a cup tournament between teams that want to enter?
Valid argument Chiefscout as there are plenty of cases for and against the competition but it's something different.
There's no doubt the Munster Senior League teams will start as very strong favourites but it's a great incentive for the AUL teams to have a right go.
It's a pre-season competition (with hopes to have it as a major competition in the next few seasons) so that might balance it out further and the aim long-term is to reduce the so-called gulf in class between the leagues and have a competition that will capture the imagination of all football fans in Cork.
The qualifying teams will also prefer competitve football rather than pre-season training so it adds more incentive.
The MSL qualifiers will be the Munster Senior League Premier Division winners, FAI Intermediate Cup winners assuming it's a Cork winner (If Avondale win league and cup then the Cork team that went out of the Intermediate Cup previous to Avondale will qualify.
The Beamish Cup winners and the Keane Cup winners.
The AUL will be represented by the Premier League winners, again the team that went furthest in the FAI Junior Cup considering we haven't won it in over 60 years.
The AOH Cup winners and the Mossie Linane Cup winners.
And a replica of the Champion's League trophy for the winners.
Great way to start the season. Be very surprised if the qualifying teams didn't give it full consideration.

Valid arguments for and against the competition but it's something different.
There's no doubt the MSL teams will be very strong favourites but it gives the AUL clubs a great incentive.
It's also a pre-season competition with hopes in the future to make it a very significant competition potentially beginning in March.
And the trophy is a replica of the Champion's League so I'd expect the eight qualifiers to give it everything they've got and begin the season with a beautiful trophy in the cabinet.
If Everton and College Corinthians go out in the quarter-final stage then Everton will qualify as Corinthians already have their name in the hat after winning the Keane Cup.
So it looks like Everton have practically qualified.
MSL qualifiers appear to be Avondale United, College Corinthians, Everton and whoever can pick up the Beamish Cup.
I think 'beautiful game' has been given the job of promoting this competition but it's a tough gig! I'd expect all senior league clubs to play their junior team in this cup. It's simply too early for Munster senior league teams .
Quick question lads, Are the senior league leaving Aul clubs join next season????
Well the morning after the night before and I think we all had time to reflect on the match. Just the experience for the lads alone was worth it, Waterford were very good to be fair. Im not goin to comment on the ref because people will say we're just looking for excuses. They hit us early and and doubled their lead soon after, but Mark Cambridge got a beautiful header just before we were reduced to 10 men. Fitness told in the end but that was always going to be the case against a LOI team. But the real winners tonight are all the lads on facebook that were in Paddy Powers! It wasn't too nice looking at those comments but that's the joy of social networks! The real losers were obviously Paddy Powers! Bring on the Beamish cup next week! C'mon the View!
