Good signing by Bohs - fills a bad need.
If they sign Mousset turns out not to be a complete bust then they will have had a solid transfer window.

Shades of the Luke Matheson signing from last year although Matheson had a better pedigree imo. Could be a handy little player and my assumption is that since he's out of contract in the summer it's essentially an extended trial for both parties.
I think Mousset is either going to be a signing of the season contender or an obscure LOI pub quiz answer if he signs. I don't think there's an inbetween. He certainly has the talent to be a great player in the league but looking at his disciplinary history (he once crashed a car worth £350,000 and now has a transfer value of £300,000 according to transfer market) I'd be concerned he could disrupt a young enough squad.
I wouldn’t pay any attention to that. There’s no metric that goes into calculating it, it’s just a figure plucked from the head of the lad editing the site. For example Ross Tierney is also valued at 300k on it and Liam Smith 250k etc. etc.
I agree it’s very much going to be a hit or miss signing, with a big risk factor involved. He scored yesterday although the physical shape he’s in doesn’t sound too promising according to Dan McDonnell on Twitter:

The reports on Mousset’s performance in the trial game today suggest that he’s got a fair bit of work to do to convince he’s fit enough to get a contract but some of the Bohs fan content around it definitely makes a strong case for a deal
Former Grimsby and Dundalk player Joe Adams signed for Kerry yesterday. He made 34 appearances for Dundalk FC during the 2022 SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division season.
Kerry have made 10 re-signings, 7 new signings and have 1 academy graduate so far, with just over 2 weeks to go to the visit of Finn Harps. With a friendly lined up against Shamrock Rovers on Saturday and the CEO's (Billy Dennehy) links to Rovers, a loan signing or two might be made.
2 grand a week comes out to a 6 figure sum which given Rovers current resources doesn't seem outrageous. Granted 6 figure sum ranges from 100 grand to just under a million. For a proven goal scorer in the league what is the upper limit of wages they can expect? Especially considering how hard it is to find a proven goal scorer.
I reckon theyed be pretty easy to deal with tbh.
If you had a striker on your books who had scored 2 goals in 22 games id say youd be happy enough to se the back of him.
He is 25 yeasr old not 20 and a kid with promise.
Take out his one season with Bohs and his record since his 20th birthday is played 86 scored 12.....
Id rather play a kid with potential like Noonan than pay a fortune for a 25 year old who has jad one good season in his carear
If you break down Afolabi at Bohs it really was one hot half-season in the 2nd half of 2023. 3 goals in his first 22 appearances, then 18 goals in his final 22 appearances. I didn't he looked up to much in any his appearances against Shels but he got a couple goals against us in consecutive weeks during that hot spell aided by horrendous defending from Shels
LOI has a history of some streaky strikers who get found out over further seasons but such the shortage of finishers around he can name his LOI price even with just a half-season track record
Didn't he get a lot of goals against the part-time teams too? UCD, Drogheda, some cup games?
Success Edogun signed for Ballymena
Big loss for Harps
Cobh Ramblers FC announce the signing of goalkeeper Timothy Martin from Royal Excelsior Virton! https://flagpedia.net/data/flags/emo...256x256/lu.png
Standing tall at 1.90m, the 23-year-old Luxembourg international brings a wealth of experience to St. Colman’s Park ahead of the new season.
Martin’s journey has seen him develop at Aubange, R.E. Virton, and RSC Anderlecht, before beginning his professional career with Nîmes B (France) in 2020-21. He later returned to Belgium, where he made 23 appearances in the second tier with Virton and gained top-flight experience on loan at RFC Seraing in 2022-23.
On the international stage, Martin has earned 4 caps for Luxembourg’s U21 side.
Kerry sign goalkeeper Tim-Oliver Hiemer from Finn Harps.
Treaty announce Dean Owens (Bray) and Canadian Connor Wilson.
Two friendlies this weekend against Sligo Rovers and Fairview Rangers are likely to have more trialists on show.
Bohs have sent Divin Isamala on loan to Portadown. That outgoing likely means Alex Lacey (who has reportedly been on trial with us through preseason) is going to be signed and announced soon.
Kevin Williams has ended his Maltese interlude, and returned to Mounthawk Park.
Mandroiu signs back for Rovers on a multi year deal. Taking shape now, another forward hopefully and should be good to go
Bang average last season he needs to step up big time.
Conan Noonan signs for Waterford on loan from Rovers. Good signing that, he looks a real talent and wasn’t getting enough minutes at rovers
Maybe slightly but I don't know what would be considered expected for a striker's ratio for scoring goals against top half/bottom half teams would it be like 40/60?
Afolabi scored 21 goals for Bohs including 5 penalties which seems to be a normal ratio for a penalty taking striker, breaking down his 16 outfield goals 5 of them were scored against top half teams Pats, Rovers, Dundalk, Shels x 2
Great to see Cornwall and Buckley involved today. They'll be like new signings.
Treaty United sign Joe Hanson, former Vancouver Whitecap.
Tore Sligo Rovers assunder on Friday.
In a pretty random move Aaron Bolger has left Pats and joined Ebbsfleet United on loan, who are currently rooted to the bottom of the Conference in England. Usually the kind of move you see in reverse.
Writing was on the wall that he'd be leaving us. There were a couple of games last season when we were toiling under Daly that he came in and had great performances that made you feel like he deserved more minutes, but he was just never able to put a run together and Kenny never seemed much of a fan when he later arrived.
When he initially signed I saw a Cork fan refer to him as being like a "good 5-a-side" player and I think that was quite a good description. He's a tidy player in tight spaces and can do well in individual battles (surprisingly good in the air for his height too), but struggles both on and off the ball outside of those small pockets of the game. Still a handy player but wasn't going to get a look in, don't think he was even with the squad in Marbella.
Conor Parsons signs for Bohs. Looks like we paid a fee for him too, he had signed with Dagenham since leaving Waterford.
Hugh Parker and Cathal McCarthy both joining Hull. McCarthy coming back on loan until July
Seems a strange transfer considering he only joined Dagenham. Their socials say they accepted a deal because he requested to leave for personal reasons. I'm guessing the fee paid is whatever they have paid in wages and signing on fee when he joined?
Low key this was an area of need for the squad though. I like the look of Rhys Brennan from the bits I've seen and I think Archie Meekison was good in that position at the end of the year but it's always good to have more experienced options as well.
