Yeah! I remember reading about him training with us alright. Watch this space I suppose.
Also Glenn Cronin has joined Chester City from exeter.
Some thoughts on Colin Healy's performance in yesterdays 1-1 friendly draw with Boston
From the Match Report....." The third of today's trialists, Colin Healy, had a quiet and unassuming match on the whole, but having his moments notably when he picked up a ball from Moore and crossed well only for Skard to waste the effort."
From a poster on an Ipswich message board...."Colin Healy looked an interesting prospect for us nothing flashy but he did the simple things well and generally didn't lose the ball."
Fingers crossed for the lad.
Jay Tabb scores on his debut for Coventry & Kevin Thornton is sent off in a 1:1 draw against Portland.
Live in the now, man :)Quote:

Paddy McCarthy,Alan Maybury and Alan Sheehan all played the first 45 for leicester in their first pre-season game v boston last night.leicester played different sides in each half in a 4-1 win, Maybury was played on the right of midfield where he finished last season with McCarthy and Sheehan playing at c.b. and l.b. respectively.
Stephen Elliott is fit and well and looking forward to the new season, after a succession of injuries which curtailed his progress last season.

the squad numbers at man city have been released, Stephen Ireland has taken the number 7 jersey, Richard Dunne is 22 (AFAIR the same number he had last season) and Willo Flood is waay down the list at 44. Not really sure what to make of that, as he is beside Micah Richards and Ishamel Miller (remember that name). None of the Irish participants in the FA Youth Cup final have first team numbers, but several are reserved, so they might get a run out at some point this season
They just signed a kid from watford club (london born) called joe o ' caoilleal or sumthing i just heard also norwich are looking to take on some of arsenals youth this year....maybe stokes or kelly?
Heard a rumour, about a week ago, that Stokes could be moved on. I found it hard too believe, though.
would be a good loan(season-long preferably) move for Stokes, don't know how Kelly is rated though.
Kelly was released by Arsenal. He's not meant to be up to much.
You'll have to do better than that bwagner - at least learn how to spell the man's name... it's Joe O'Cearuill. Here's what Arseblog said about him at the end of last season:Quote:

I see Alan O'Brien came on for Newcastle today in the Inter-Toto cup and nearly scored with the last kick of the game. Hopefully he'll get more of a look-in this season.
Lawrence and Murphy scored for Sunderland in a 3-0 win over Forest Green. Apparently the Lawrence goal was fantastic.
Man U want to off-load Liam Miller asap. Ferguson wants rid of him before the transfer window closes.
Joe O’Cearuill - must be Irish even though born in London ??. Just signed from Watford by Arsenal:

Paddy McCarthy and Alan Maybury played at c.b. amd r.m. respectively in leicesters 1-0 friendly win at macclesfield. Logan and Sheehan were unused subs on the night.
Terry Dixon scored 2 goals for Spurs reserves tonight to add to the goal he scored in his previous game. He was taken off at half time tonight.
Report:

According to the same website Robbie made his first start of pre-season against Celta Vigo and was in excellent form, invloved in all Spurs' best attacks. Andy Reid was absent with a foot injury.
I don't think this is any great surprise, but it's very encouraging:

Leicester defender Patrick McCarthy will captain the side next season.
McCarthy deputised for Danny Tiatto for most of the last campaign and will continue duties on the pitch with Tiatto staying on as club captain.
"I have always dreamt of captaining a big side like Leicester," McCarthy, 23, told the club's website.
"There are a lot of big voices in the dressing-room so it isn't all going to be on my shoulders. I 'll get a helping hand from a few senior professionals."
Leicester manager Rob Kelly wants Tiatto, 33, to play more first-team football this season and thinks he will be under less pressure without the captain's armband.
"I want him to concentrate on himself this season," said Kelly.
"I've taken the extra responsibility away from him but he fully understands the situation."
Gavin Mahon signed a new contract with Watford today
I really hope Stokes gets out on loan this year.
Richard Dunne and Willo Flood played the first 45 minutes, with Flood at right full, while Stephen Ireland was part of an entirely different outfield ten for the second 45 as Man City drew 3-3 with Wrexham, Ireland laying on the pass for the second of Man City's goals.

Aiden McGeady was man of the match in Celtic's 1-1 draw with New England Revolution, while Darren O'Dea was (again) an unused sub in the game.

I watched this game and McGeady looks a much better player than this time last year. His end product and strength have improved massively. He is also not just lagging on the wing and is all over the pitch trying to get the ball. I hope he keeps progressing. He played behind the strikers for a good bit of the match and looked good.Quote:

Maybury and Sheehan both came on for the last 20 in leicesters 3-1 win at stockport, Logan was on the bench but McCarthy's name didnt feature anywhere.
Stephen Ireland started and Willo Flood was a late second half sub as Man City came from 2-0 down to beat Rochdale 3-2, with Ireland setting up City's first goal. Flood came on for Micah Richards, suggesting he again played in defence??

Mc Geady had a good 30mins for Celtic against Everton.
Brought menace and penetration to a very limp attack. Showed a natural awareness for the incisive pass. He didn't get much over Neville but when cutting inside he was much more effective than at the Chile friendly.
Old soldier Carsley patrolled around midfield, can still pinpoint a 50 yard pass, if he holds his place in the first team he could be there or thereabouts in the Irish squad.
McGeady scored from 25 yards according to teletext.
