Just a quick question lads, Would the standard of the MSL and AUL be much lower than that of the Limerick Premier ie, Pike, Janesboro, Fairview etc etc

msl premier is of a better standard than limerick premier
Leon, there is no intermediate league in Limerick so their junior teams are very strong and their top teams would hold their own with "most" MSL teams. Pike for example would be among the favourites for the FAI Junior cup.
While I would say Rockmount/Avondale/maybe Douglas are better than Limerick Premier, recent results mainly Senior Cups between Limericks big Junior sides ie Pike & Fairview suggest their Premier teams are as strong if not stronger than alot of MSL Premier teams in my opinion.
Castleview 4 -3 Kanturk, Kanturk went 3 up in the first half before view pulled 2 back before half time and scored a further 2 in the second half!
Sounds like a cracker el nino!
I see cork teams being talked down on faith junior cup thread. Wouldn't it be nice to see a few of our better teams draw the Limerick sides at home to see how they would get on. They seem to think we would have no chance.
To get this clear - the current FAI Intermediate (not Junior) Cup champions (Avondale) - possibly the strongest Intermediate side in the country for the past 5-10 years (Rockmount) and a Douglas Hall sides whos second string are strong enough to get to last 16 of MJC and last 64 of FAI last year - you are saying they wouldn't even be in the top five in Limerick...
Well we're all entitled to a point of view but I'll have to disagree with you there
lads can anyone tell me where St Aidens Community School is in cork, kinsale are playing there tomorrow and would like to watch it

Behind the Church on Dublin Hill inside Glenthorn Estate. At top of Dublin Hill turn right onto new link road between Dublin Hill & Ballyhooley Rd, turning right again half way down and right again at the Church.
Coming from Ballyvolane side of city go straight past dunnes shopping centre, straight through crossroads at fob and gill pub and its the second left off that road. If you find the church in dublin hill its only around the corner
thank you
Corrrrect!!! Fox & Hounds was intended
3rd left
Colin Keane joining coachford .good signing by mick welsh
I hope not too many went to St Aidens :)
Game switched to Kinsale at lunchtime
Kinsale won 5-0
Not much to write about
Looking very much like Xmas with no league games played
Unbelievable game in Innishannon today, innishvilla beating kilumney 1nil... Real smash and grab with villa getting a goal midway through the first half and defending bravely for the rest of the game. Some very close misses for the away side hitting the bar 3 times but it wasnt to be! Innishvilla look to be up and coming, very young side!
Congrads to Innishvilla and Knockavilla 2 teams from the same Parish reaching last 64 Fai cup
Big congrats to Innishvilla
Super scalp
Well done
glen celtic 3 carrigtwohoill 1.a well deserved victory for glen celtic as i predicted, very dissapointed in carraig to be honest .expected more from the highfliers of premier a. i had heard a lot about the carrig no 11 but he was very quiet.the glen front 2 john corcoran and barry donavan gave the centre halves a torrid time.ist goal was a bad defensive mistake, corcoran disspoessed the defender and pulled a great ball back for the in rushing forward to make it 1 nill.ten minutes into second half a free kick on the angle of the box was badly dealt by the carrig keeper to make it 2 nill.glen dropped the tempo a bit then and with about 20 minutes a great ball into the box was finished by carrigtwohils john magnier ,game on. ,but a foul by carraig defender mark o mahony on john corcoran his second yellow as the glen forward was bearing down on goal meant a sending off and the resultant free kick was brilliantly put away by mark nolan. good performance by the home side who are now into the open draw..was looking down the carraig line and didnt see OWL there ,but maybe radiostar may give his report later. out of the fai wouldnt be a diaster for them as consolidateing premier a status and finishing as high up the table would i expect be their priority.
heard that valley two former team mates of a league winning team of 1986 came together ,killumneys dereck melerick and inishvillas dennis mulvihill. timber work was in constant use ,but thats cup football and good luck to inishvilla in open draw.,dennis mull doing well there and i bet was delighted to have jack walsh back.
Best of luck to Innishvilla, Killumney are still scratching their heads as to how they didnt score a hatful never mind one but that is cup football, we see it at all levels! Saw the first half of the Glen/ Carrig game and would have to agree Shetland the better team went in ahead at half time. Good luck to the Glen in the open round- anyone know who they got?
Better team won we can have no complaints. Best of luck to the Glen next round.
any one know where i can find the draw for 5 Round of FAI Junior Cup .Thanks
Disappointing result today but from what i hear Glen Celtic deserved the victory. Their 2 in the middle ran the show i believe. Best of luck to them. Anyone hear the draw ?
broadford v innishvilla bansha v knockavilla
OWL ,IT JUST SHOWS HOW OPPINIONS DIFFER yeh the middle duo were well on top mark nolan in particular ,but the front two were immense every time the ball went up to them they caused huge problems, result one centre half was sent off and the other booked ,it was defensive mistakes that was to prove costly,.could be a blessing if next round is a lengthy away trip.
Spoke to one or two lads who play with blarney street over the weekend and they told me that they are very happy that gary nolan is leaving the club....biggest moaner they ever came across they said...never saw him play myself but no matter how good a player is if they upset the dressing room they are just not worth having on your team
back pass maybe the way things are going there at the moment he had a reason to moan, i wiil say as a player he is a joy to watch. he played for us for a few months last year and apart from one or two bookings no problems.he would be an asset to any club if you need a proven goal scorer.
Cork Draw:
Innishvilla away to Broadford United from Limerick District league - don't know much about them away trip but only to north cork/south limerick border. Any info would be appreciated
As above Glen Celtic at home to Wiclow Rovers - The have a leinster Senior league side so I guess this is their 2nd team - they got to the last 16 last year beating Castleview & Coachford en route so some guys on here should have some info.
Knockavilla got Bansha Celtic from Tipp - Mid table on 1st division (there is a premier division) so Knockavilla should fancy their chances.
Fairview away to Athenry - a mid premier division side in Galway so a tough away trip.
Kinsale/Glasheen will travel to Limerick to face Moyross - I know nothing of the Moyross side.
Midleton/Tramore meet Crettyard United away in Carlow.
Id say ye are the only home draw of the Cork clubs. Best of luck.
Just to revise/add to your cork draw:
SPRINGFIELD away to Ballymun Utd.
Dont know much about this club other than obviously they are from BALLYMUN!!!. - see they beat team called Valley Park 4-1 in last round. Also see on Fai Jnr Cup thread they are quoted @ 16/1 (7th favourites) with Boyles!.
Not many Cork teams in the running according to Boyles anyway - we are way out @ 66's along with Kinsale. Tramore @ 12's.
No other Cork teams inside 100/1 from wat I can see.
Cheers owl. Not involved with them anymore as i took up the reffin last year but still try get to games when i can. Exciting team to watch this year.
Sorry forgot to add the Springfield fixture away to Ballymun - I do know more than the fact they are from Ballymun - they won the FAI in 08/09 - have gotten to the third round of the FAI senior previously. They would be one of the top junior sides in Dublin over the last while. It looks like Sherrif are the top side up that way at the moment but Ballymun away is a very tough draw.
I would think the tramore you mention is the Waterford side not the Tramore Athletic from Cork so Kinsale & Springers given odds no other Cork side. But I think it is fairly realistic we've not had a 1/4 finalist for quite a while...
unlucky against wilton tonight innish
