Probably the best approach is to call a press conference when a decision is reached, unless they wanted 15 soccer journo's out of action all day....hmmm... :D

John does this load : http://www.extratime.ie/newsdesk/articles/2755/
Main sport headline on RTE.
It begins...
Press conference begins.
It's part of their conspiracy to keep Derry in the Premier.
When there's no journos around to report on the First Division matches tonight, the FAI will use the lack of match reports to convinvce people that the First Division doesn't exist and never did. They'll claim the only way to punish Derry is to give them a big, pointless points deduction.
Thank God
Any link?
A reporter whose there posted on the Derry chatroom that their contract has been terminated with the FAI
Was nice knowing y'all.
12:11:37 [AAD] The Fai will have a dicussion with stakeholders to see I Derry city can partake in the loi ne t season but not in the premier division
Apparently they held "second illegitimate contracts with players" and are out of the league entirely.
bye all - looks like we are finished
I hate seeing any team get into this messing. But I vaguely remember Derry City supporters coming on to our forum .Lecturering us when we were complaining about how we were capped at start of season!
telling us the if we kept our house in orderer that these budget capps would not have happened!
Sorry for been sarcastic but "Whos house is in order now"!
12:13:33 [AAD] From the statement : the board o management of the Fai took the decission to terminate Derry city fc contract to participate in the loi
18:08: DERRY ARE DEMOTED. Drogheda will play Bray on Tuesday
from extratime
That article just says Derry City are demoted but it doenst say where?
Still have to say this not a good day for the league
12:14:40 [AAD] Subject to ongoing cooperation of Derry city fc being forthcoming the board has agreed that an Fai delegation will,In the coming week meet with Derry city fc and the varius other stakeholders to consider how Derry city fc may participate in senior football in the loi next season
is it expulsion or demotion?
So when was the last time three clubs pulled out of the league in one season/
Damn.
FAI in non fudging
12:16:43 [AAD] At some level other than in the premier division. The Fai terminted the contract as they could not relegate them
If they're good boys they'll get into the First. If not, it's the A League. Could all be irrelevant anyway in the long run.
Not demoted, out of the league. Presumably they'll now fold the company and a new one will apply for the A League. If so, two points to note:
- They're too late to do so this year, but might get an exception made. Oh, and if they got a 1st division licence, and there was space...
- There could be some jurisdictional problems with the IFA.
Looks like I stopped supporting club football at the right time
Sad to see this happen to Derry but there's no future for football in this country at a decent level
If you had been following the thread (was way back in fairness) you would be aware that the sponsorship excuse for "just a smokescreen" according to MariborKev, who knows what he's talking about. Nevertheless, they have been sanctioned for having "second illegitimate contracts with players".
Derry are Gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they don't wind up themselves someone will do it for them, probably HMRC who will surely be applying penalties for these illegitimate contracts.
Tony O'Donoghue saying FAI contract terminated but Derry may yet play in the first division next season.
Would be terrible to lose them altogether.
