It'd be interesting to see how he plays with Whelan now, given the leaps and bounds Whelan has come on over the course of the last qualifying series. When Trapattoni took over, it looked like Reid was going to be the box to box midfielder, with Whelan as the holding player. Without Reid, Whelan played further forward, and was encouraged to shoot from distance. Would Reid's return reverse the original roles, or would they each play a different role?
