Doyle lacks pace and sadly I don't think he is going to improve as a player. If Wolves go down this season it is the end of Doyle's career. He should have gone to Chelsea a couple of years ago,he may or may not have got a lot of games but he would have got expert coaching and experience.He hasn't improved his game in the last few years and he looks like just another typical honest grafting Championship striker,and also like McGeady & McCarthy he was hyped up by Irish supporters too much

Kevin Doyle has improved each year that he's been playing football.
He's clearly premiership standard, which for the record doesn't mean I think he's Torres, Rooney or Drogba, but he easily holds his own at that level and in my opinion is one of the brighter young prospects there.

I'd agree that Wolves was probably the wrong move for him, he should have plumped for Fulham instead.

Listen you may be a Leprachaun wearing ole oler pollyanna and thats ok too I suppose but I tend to see things as they are. Listen son Ireland are not going to be in SA due to the failure of our players not taking easy chances and also schoolboy errors which cost us automatic qualification. If Ireland didn;t have Trap at the helm and also Bulgaria were crap this Irish side would have got nowhere near the play-offs.

His decision to go to Wolves was surprising, Doyle is 28 now I think so he is hardly a young prospect anymore. I hope he has a good second half of the season so hopefully a bigger club will come in for him.

He's actually 26. Born September 1983.

He's only turned 26 a few months back, which is still young enough.
He's playing with a team who don't create many chances [agree that Wolves was a strange choice] has had an injury spell, yet he's still scored on average about 1 in 3 this season.

He'll score double figures with a poor side this year, many higher rated players won't.

Well thats good that Doyle is only 26, I hope he does have a good season. I was hoping Everton or Villa might have come in for him last season as those two would be ideal for him at this stage of his career. He has potential but his pace is a worry at this level.

Pace is not the be all and end all of a striker. I have seen grannies that could run fasterthan Teddy Sheringham, and look what he acheived in his career. Alan Shearar was never the quickest. I smart footballing brain is a hell of a lot more important than speed. And on top of that Doyle is far from slow. He is good in the air and holding up the ball, and trust me, you will find very few who can do that and also be very quick.

True, but Sheringham & Shearer had great football brains. I would not put Doyle in their class.

He's also a terrible tennis player.
I played him last year and won in straight sets 7-6, 6-4, 6-4.

I think you should relax and tone down your approach to respected and reasoned posters on this site.
