One that was out of use for a couple of seasons but I think may be back is the Lisnagry pitch. More sand than grass, sidelines about 2 feet from the nettles and trees and a one foot high ledge where one of the goal lines should be.

Played the 4b divisional cup last night against St Pats lost 1-0 but the game can be described as a farce complete joke....
that pitch was a disgrace, i'm sorry if there are St Pats people on here but that pitch was horrendus.. it made good footballers look stupid , it was a horrible game to watch... best of luck in the next round if you have home advantage you have great chance to go to the final
Brutal Pitches
Lisnagry
Newport
Bruff
St Pats
St Pauls
Kilteely
Cals 1, 2 & 3
Summerville

How did the coonagh game finish yesterday lads?
Division 3B Cup
Coonagh 4 - 0 Parkville
Didnt get the result of the Moyross and Murroe game.
Yeah thats pretty crap too. Actually greenhills too with their manhole covers.
Eh, what about Glenview's pitch. Worst pitch in the history of football.
I agree with Jock, the pitch is quite poor. The league seriously needs to look at this pitch as a venue. Unfair on other clubs.
i wonder is there anything that the ldmc could do though some of the above pitches have been bad for years
Looking forward to the semi final sidecutter? Should be a good game!
Lisnagry - played it last week not the greatest
Newport - never played it so can't comment
Bruff - when wet terrible pitch but least its flat
St Pats - a joke there is space there to move to side and least be semi flat
St Pauls - one of the few pitches i have kick a ball out of defence and don't see it land because of the slope :D
Kilteely - never played it
Cals 1, 2 & 3 - Cals 1 is ok never played 2 and 3 but suspect there bad when wet
Summerville - never played
Shelbourne Maternaty field - thats not bad its flat and you can play football on
Bateman Park - played once but when played it was ok but expect better pitch for premier team
once again if the grass was cut on this pitch it would be ok cause its flat, my point is the pitches we should be playing on must be as close to flat as possible and i don't know how we allow ourselves to play on pitches like St Pats , Glenview etc which don't allow you play any decent football
Ask Old Keeper these questions, he's with the LDMC and St Pats:rolleyes:
waste of time, because they probably don't think they have bad pitch... was in town at weekend and lad from st pats .. who recognised me from holycross.. while chatting said the pitch was not bad. i couldn't believe he thought that way.. but i suppose most teams from each of the pitches mentioned think that there pitch is grand cause they have played on it for so long
Hi jock
You should know better!
If you ask me a question you will get an honest answer.
The pitch is bad and very difficult to play on. we do have room on the side and that area was the main pitch. we had some refs play games in dire weather and destroyed the pitch. the club had no option but to switch to this layout. anyone who knows the area or played us a few times knows the current pitch is a temporary one.
I also agree that there should be a minimum standard required of pitches for LDL games and clubs that fall below this should lose home advantage
