by the looks of things, the rain could very well delay it more anyway. What condition are the pitches in?

Small club with big ambitions ;)
Cashman's normally wait til 4 or 5 games in to the season so they can get an idea of who's who in each division. How ye looking Dcross. My prediction of ye winning the league look likely? many players in and out?
Was talking to Club Secretary yesterday... He's also heard the rumour that the strike may re-appear this weekend again!!! Lets hope not!!!
Also looking at the statement from the referee's does it more read that the disagreement has not been resolved just that the referee's have agreed to continue refereeing while the dispute is being resolved

The CORK BRANCH of the I.S.R.S met on Monday 24th August. At this meeting the Branch committee of the Cork Referees received the full backing from the 90 strong memberships for the stance that was taken to withdraw services. The Cork Branch of the I.S.R.S. have decided to enter into the Dispute Resolution Procedure and have:
Agreed to provide refereeing services with immediate effect in all Leagues.
The Cork Branch have been working tiredly behind the scenes to resolve the current depute and remain positive that a resolution will be worked out between both parties.
The Secretary and Chairman of our Branch have been in Talks with Mr Gerry Mac Dermot of the FAI over the course of the day and informed him of our decision and he is aware as per the agreement we are available to referee as from 2pm today.

On the ref thing ,if we havent heard by now they wont do anything till after the weekend, otherwise they'd only turn the clubs against them.
With regards to the weather an the pitchs. If an if is a big ask it stay dry till Sat or Sun then the pitchs even the good ones will be very soft. Not one will be in an condition to be cut so expect it to be mud up to your ankles an grass above the ankle, hahaha.
At least we can offer our opponents a shower now at least afterwards.
Before I go,the new Aul ruling 'if you hav'nt got a pitch to play a game on or if your own is unplayable you have to play away ' it will be interesting to see what way that is dealt with this weekend if games are at risk with the weather
Have to state that there is no threat of a strike. Pub talk at its best!! Both parties are still in discussions.
As Corkref has stated clearly theres no threat of a strike. Can we leave this one go now.
To be fair Littleman, the dispute is unresolved, so we cant really let it go. I hope all sides give a statement at the end of it, so that we know the history of it. The AUL seem to be getting the blame for it, which, with no reason to back up my statement, I dont believe is 100% true.
The refs panel published in May has changed slightly by the look of the fixtures and the refs.
Am I wrong in thinking that the abuse received by officials has relented in the last season? Maybe you could take that one Cork Ref?
I heard the story of a GAA ref a few weeks ago, who was caught be the throat at at the end of the game - im sure if it was a soccer ref, it would be in the papers, and rightly so.
To all teams, I hope you have a successful season (except maybe those in Prem A!!!) and I hope your club grows too.
A small match report, with a mention of the good players on the other team would help us help each other.
Well Horse to be very honest there will be no strike. Why am I so sure,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The Mfa/Aul and the refs have entered into talks with a view to resolving the issue. Both parties have agreed to abide by previously set down rules as to how this or indeed various other matters will eventually be sorted if the need ever arises.
One of these would be that while the talks are onging the refs continue to ref(all be it under protest).
Now you may well ask what happens if they cant sort it out between themselves, well then it goes to the Fai to adjudicate,an thats the end of the road then.
All the while the refs are bound by the agreement which there representitives signed to do with how matters like these would be resolved.
