Sean Brennan who was on loan with us at start of season has gone back to Southampton. Also gone are Kevin Knight and Jamie Hollywood. Jamie because he is playing in the world student games and wont have as much time to commit to playing with us. pity as he had returned from injury and started two of the last three games. Knight didnt play much football with us so no surprise.

Nice kid could'nt break into the first team but got his leaving cert in Ashfield college and is taking an alternate path.
Good luck to him, a college degree in the U.S is something that will stand to him whatever happens.
More and more of the young players in Ireland are going to have to look to mainland Europe and America for options the UK is becoming a world league where only the best can make it at the top (Premier , Championship) and the lower leagues just offer a "living" and a ten year "career"
It's one of my biggest regrets that I didn't pursue the American Scholarship program immediately after school here. I knew a few lads who were, pretty average to be fair, who have done really well in life having taken that path.Quote:
