Anyone know of places in Belfast that would be likely to show the Dundalk game ? Even if asked, rather than have it on anyway. Any sports bars there ?
Not to say it will be any cooler, but got a text from a mate in Larnaca last night, he's out for the game, said it was 27c at 6.30 local time, could even be hotter this Thursday as we are into August.
Dundalk flying out tomorrow am, basing themselves in Nicosia as its the warmest part, to acclimatize for the match.
Getting the first goal will make things interesting, but also no disaster if we go one behind, go two down and it probably will be curtains. Tough one to call, I think we will score, but AEK will be firm favourites that's for sure.
Cyprus and greece are normally mid 30s in August.

It is hard to fathom how much Legia have disimproved since getting to the Champions League two seasons ago. Cork must be beginning to realise that this was a huge missed opportunity. Opportunities to advance in the Champions League don't come about very often. It's hard enough winning the domestic league, to start with.
Another "if only" moment for a LOI club.
Thought we did really well in the first leg, could've been a different story in the second leg had we taken at least two of our chances in the first. It is hugely frustrating that we didn't do much over in Poland given their poor start to the season.
So next up is Rosenborg. If we get similar chances as we did against Legia, then we really need to put them away, but definitely keeping a clean sheet is massive here.

It might not be the worst thing to be like this heading into the last 10.
That goal was coming in fairness. Dundalk really need to settle a bit and get a decent sequence of passing together. They're allowing Larnaca get on top of them
Bad 1st 15 mins for Dundalk. Under big pressure and conolly and gave it away v cheaply a couple of times. Managed a dangerous counter then immediately got sliced open on a counter themselves.
That was poor by duffy, just lobbed it into the keepers arms. Should have just passed it to McGrath and kept possession.
Hoare absolutely shocking at this level as a RB. He's been caught out positionally for both goals.
Brutal defending, two bad mistakes by the one player, hoare should never have been caught like that, ball watching. Long time since we have seen that from a Dundalk side. Old days 1 man letting his team mates down.
Strange that dundalk aren't trying to win this. I thought they had the special mentality that other LOI clubs don't have.

Dundalk dont look like scoring, hobans touch letting him down. IF they could get one before half time then its still to play for, but theyre not even getting close to the final 1/3 of the pitch nevermind scoring a goal.
They'd do well to avoid a drubbing
