David o Leary?

I would think so.
Is he not gone to Norway so Aaron?
Would be surprised to see him move all the way up to Derry to be honest. He is a young lad and his family travel to all his games home and away. It would be a big move for him to suddenly move to the other side of the country. I think he is in College also but I could be wrong.
DundalkFC chairman Ciaran Bond speaking to local Dundalk journo Gav McLaughlin RE Griffin and proposed move to Derry
Gav also tweetedQuote:
Bond on Griffin: “If Derry are serious about signing him they will come up with the money we're looking for. It's not megabucks.

Former @DundalkFC striker Marc Griffin has attracted interest from Chesterfield and Newport County. Derry unwilling to pay compensation fee
Yes both Griffin and O'Leary currently training with us
O'Leary also requires compensation payment, it's why he's not signing for us. Presumably Derry are prepared to pay compo for both of these guys?
What would the compensation be though. I have heard 20k being mentioned. Surely less than that no? Didn't Fingal pay 10k for Finn a few years ago.
When was he training with ye because yesterday he was in a hotel in Dublin waiting to go to Oslo tomorrow according to him.
Yeah, I heard O'Leary was off with the PFAI last night. Why would he if he found a club?
Earning in the region of €5000 according to this article.

Although I did hear the club were trying to get in touch with him. No chance would he be accepting anything under the wages at his last club.
From what I've heard, McMillan won't be coming. He has offers from Sligo and Shamrock Rovers. Unless he gets offered silly money, he'll be at 1 of those 2 clubs this season.
Ya not a hope of getting Zayed. As for McMillan is concerned, I suppose it will come down to how much more we need him than Sligo and Shamrock Rovers when it comes to money. In my opinion a young quality centre back is a priority so the club may be willing to spend a little more on wages to get him than other clubs and take the hit wages wise elsewhere.
Kieron Dyer released by QPR today. Cracking singing for any LOI side looking for an injury prone 34 year old has been.
I had understood that Mc Millan to Shams was a done deal until the Hibs flirtation arose. That was also before Mc Guinness and Oman had signed up. I wouldn`t see Evan displacing either of those and Shams already have their beanpole option up front. Sligo would be a great move given that they have a stable squad from last season and he can slot into the vacancy left by Mc Guinness, but its a pain in the ass to commute to. Limerick is about 45 minutes closer of a commute, but is unknown football territory in every sense of the word.
Dylan Mernagh linked with Limerick in the Mirror apparently.
Rings a bell, ex Waterford player?
It's kinda mad to see players linked with Limerick (or any club with a newly appointed manager), surely Stuart Taylor is going to take a week or so to bed in, access Limerick's squad from last year (2 good Limerick players on the PFAI team heading to Oslo) and commence signing players.
Would be helpful if Stuart Taylor got an assistant in with LOI experience like Croly at Rovers with Michael O'Neill and Gerry Carr at Sligo with Ian Baraclough.
As far as we know Stuart Taylor has Mike Kerley as assistant manager and Tommy Barrett as coach. Both of whom have been around the league a while and know what a lot of the players around are like. Kieran Judge is usually involved in the signing of players also as he is the General Manager of the club so he would most likely also be involved in making contact with last seasons players and potential new signings.
Mernagh could be a good signing. He looked fairly solid against us the 4 times and played left full once or twice. A position we could do with streghtening even if Shane Tracey re-signs.
The likes of O'Leary gone on the PFAI have offers from the club since the end of last season but he was supposed to be waiting to see who the manager was before deciding his future.
Yes, yes I thought the initial post said "Premier League". Mea culpa. Though I will say that McDonagh was very good for us and Kirbs is a Town legend whom everybody was delighted to see back no matter how old he was. Finished the season well but it's a good time to call a halt.
I see Athlone's CEO, formerly of Cork City/FORAS and former (?) poster on here is moving to another club judging by his Twitter. The Roddy Collins of the boardroom?! A Premier Division club presumably as he talks about cheering Athlone on for promotion. Not Cork it seems. Who's in the market for a CEO then, Pats? Dundalk? Limerick maybe?
Michael O Sullivan was our club secretary but stepped down a month ago and barr that its Kieran Judge our General Manager and Pat O Sullivan Chairman.
Where exactly would the CEO come in in that case?
Wouldn't be surprised if he is coming to us to fill Michael O Sullivans position.
Edit: Had a look at his twitter and he says he is starting a new job this week. If it is us then I presume it will be announced at the press conference with the manager.
limerick fc call press conferance for friday morning at thomond park
It appears hes going to Limerick. What do Athlone and Cork fans make of him? I'd love to see Limerick do well so I wish him well. http://www.live95fm.ie/News-Sport/Article/?ItemID=13634
Personally i believe this turnaround we seem to be having, alot of it is down to him.
Little piece on the FIFPro tournament from the Times: http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/...328631640.html
FC Haka on the prowl again.
Dodge ciaran mcguigan who played for us under sean connor was signed by swedish side syrianska. im almost sure he went to that tournament that year. could be wrong though.
Don't think he did. I haven't them to hand but fairly certain he wasn't listed on any of the 2 squads before this one
Are we the only country to run something like this? Its just i dont hear of it anywhere else, obviously could very well be standard practice. I would think that it would always take a few years for something like this to get going. Or for some club to unearth a gem from it and then everyone else follows suit the next year.
Obviously not if there's a team from three other countries participating.
We don't run anything. The Norwegian PFA organise it and ourselves, Finland and Sweden participate. This is the 3rd year of the winter tournament. Apparently some of the summer leagues hold a simialr tournament
I'm not knocking the tournament BTW, I was just pointing out most of the players involved will want to stay at home so if they get an offer, they're more likely to do that.
In many east european leagues they run (organised by the league body) a triallists match. Last year the 3rd division (4th tier) Moscow Oblast league had one out in Scholkovo, a few young lads cut from big Moscow clubs lined out. Dalmatia had one (at least until 2009).
A LOI team could do wonders for our players and the league, not just for promoting the game in Ireland but also giving players an outlet. The experiment for the aviva was going to fail as you need a full selection of players. It would be great to see the LOI go up against Serie B or 2. Bundesliga.
If the FA's took it, in conjunction with the PFA's it would be great.
Limerick supposedly talking to Davin O'Neill.
Can't see that happening. He won't move far from Cork. He really likes his job working for the Navy. Turned down Ipswich when Roy Keane wanted to sign him.
