Lot of quality goals scored in McDonagh Park this year!! ;)

Ha ha!! No, didn't play. Entertaining game, Bridge Celtic looked like a team that needed a result and were very good in the 1st half, granted we gifted them their 1st goal. Got back into it in the 2nd half and dominated, got the score back to 2-2 and it was anyones game at that stage. However, they got the 3rd and we pushed on a bit too much trying to get the equaliser and were punished with the last kick of the game. Myself and cousinsly over-saw things as Donal has been offered a job with Limerick FC. Season over for the club, time to enjoy a few months off!!!
how is it a play off !!! meanus b have to play 2 games .. they now face hermitage b ..to get into 2nd/3rd div play off... cooraclare play 1 game lose and are out/hermitage play 1 game only and if they win they are into playoff.. ... will be tough on any team to lose out after a long hard season ..
Avenue 3-0 Bridge Utd B
Good crowd in Doora last night for the cup final. Avenue went 1-0 up inside the first few minutes. Free-kick crossed in from the wing and tapped in by Russell, the Bridge line were very deep - almost back on their own goal line - they were asking for trouble, why they were back that far I don't know. Avenue went 2-0, McDonagh had a shot and went through the keeper's legs. Bridge missed a great chance before half-time to get back into it. 3-0 then and the game was well and truely over. The Bridge did well to get to the final but in the end Avenue were always going to be too strong for them and they could've had a couple more goals as well. Good to see they decided to scrap playing that Rocky music before the game too

F.A.I Junior Cup Clare Area Final
County Grounds: Tulla United or Newmarket Celtic or Shannon Olympic V Rineanna Rovers.
This seems a strange way to decide the area winners... 4 teams remain, and they play a quarter final and semi final and 1 team gets a bye to the final. I know they went furthest in the competition but surely 2 semi's and a final is the way to go.
Avenue United
CDSL League and Cup champions 09/10, what a season. Fair play to everyone involved
Lads do you think the clare league should change things up a bit in the league next year, ie. top four teams get seeded in munster and fai competitions the following season, this would surely make the games towards the end of the season a bit more interesting. Anybody agree with this?
The Clare League have no power to seed teams for them competitions, don't think the FAI or MFA would introduce it anytime in the near future anyway
This has been one seriously long Season!!!
The Burren were unable to field a team on sunday against Rock Rovers.............rather bad form on Lifford to be honest, they'll have an interesting game against Mountshannon, with a lot at stake
Does everyone agree with having a play off in the league?
I think its ridiculous and should be scrapped, it just adds more games to an already long season. Mountshannon were in the same position last year & got well beat by the Rovers and I cant see them beating Lifford this year either imo.
PS: Burren are a disgrace and should be deducted 10pts for next year.
Anybody know how the manus A and manus B game went tonight? Tulla beat newmarket 6-2 last night, any 1 have a report of the game?
Manus B beat Manus A 3 nil.
Any news if Burren Utd will be punished by the Clare League?
Probably not as it's a bit late in the season for the Clare League to grow a pair of balls.
Nice Post Banner Balls...............no shortage of them in your pants with comments like that
They should indeed be punished, as should any club unable to field a team, for no reason other than its the only way to deal with situations like this.
Seasons Highs:
Fairytale Season for Bridge 'B'
Tulla's new pitch and grounds
Clare Oscar Traynors run to the final with S. Hicky moving up the ladder to Limerick FC
Manus 'B' promotion at the expense of Manus 'A'
Hermitage promotion to the top flight on their 50 year aniversary
Avenues double - Best team this season
Well ran Season by all involved in the committee - County Grounds in great nick
Seasons Lows
Paddy Dunne - makes a skit of the game and the league with his Oscar winning performances
Wexfords demolishion of Hughys Boys
Monsoons and Snowstorms
Red Cards and Riots
Manus 'A's demotion at the hands of Manus 'B'
I'd say they'll definately get some sort of punishment off the Clare League alright, back in '08 Kildysart gave 2 walkovers with about 4 or 5 games to go in the league and were deducted 6 points, fined and finished on -1 points, hopefully the Burren will be deducted points for the start of their 10/11 campaign. It would've been more in their manager's line to have been looking after his own players at his own club besides trying to get other players suspended
LIFFORD 3-2 MOUNTSHANNON
Lifford went 1 down just before half time, they equalised early second half and were well on top but mountshannon hit them on the break with about ten mins to go and went 2-1 up. Lifford stuck at it and scored the 2nd goal with 5 mins to go and the winner 2 mins later. I must say I was delighted they stayed up and they fully deserved it. 4 town teams next year which will make for some great battles i m sure.
Well done to Lifford on staying in the premier. Great run of results since they changed manager earlier in the season.
4 town teams in Premier now...Avenue,Lifford,Tage and Rock. Usual derby games between Bridge, Newmarket, Bunratty and the Rovers. Bridge Cel and Tulla also will make it a competitive Premier next season.
Avenue 5-1 Rock Rovers
going from strength to strength now, its a pity the seasons ending. Final against tulla thursday night...treble is in our sights
good result against one of the best teams in town ( ;-0 )
The 2010 Clare League AGM will take place on Monday 21st June at 8.30PM in the West County Hotels in Ennis
In all fairness there seems to be a lot of influence on fixtures from certain clubs this season as well as some lenient disciplinary actions handed out by the CL.
Do I hear a cabinet reshuffle on the table?
I am afraid I gave up very early this season trying to make sense of most of the discisions made by that committee and the kick in the face incident finished me altogether. All I can say, I hope there are a few changes, not in the position to do it myself but I do know there are good people in the soccer world in Clare who would have aspirations to push forward positively and develop. Hope the AGM goes well and best of luck to everyone in the coming season.
i hope avenue dont get any of the newly promoted teams in the first couple of games or else there will be conspiracy calls that the clare league are giving them the title already!!
p.dunne down for thurs night final.. he hasnt reffed an avenue game in years,, is this his last hurrah ?
This is the word on the street
Potential New teams are Limerick Garda, Clare Garda, Doonbeg, Avenue C, Fergus Rovers
Talks of a 4th Division as well.
I suppose we'll have to wait for the AGM to find out more.
Fair enough if Doonbeg, Avenue Utd C and a Clare Garda team want to enter the Clare League but if they allow a Gort team and a Limerick Garda team into the Clare League it's a joke, there's plenty of room for them in their own counties.
All I know bout the Gort team they have underage teams in the league this season for the first time and they have a decent pitch and changing rooms, the reason they were saying they wanted to enter was their senior teams only got about six games last year(don't know how true this is, only going what their underage manager told us) in their respective leagues. Is there enough Gardai in Clare to have a team? Will Clare expierence a rise in crime every Sunday from 11 to 12.45 during the winter?:p

Might improve dicipline on the pitc :)
it's up to clare league to deceide who they want in the league ... personaly would not fancy an away match in gort !!!
cannot figure out why clare league can accept teams from limerick /galway and then stop teams trying to leave clare bit of double standards here ..
Gort is alot closer that Doonbeg !!!
Gort have entered all their underage teams in Clare this year so obviously see their future in the Clare league as opposed to Galway. I'd expect that Limerick Garda will be playing their games in Clare?? If that is the case don't see an issue with it.
Don't think Clare League or anyone else could have stopped Shannon teams moving to Limerick. They had made their mind up to leave irrespective of what Clare League had to say about it.
