Excellent idea. If we could get one of the papers to run with the idea and print the wording it would be great.

in the end..........i just felt sorry for him :(
(and very fookin annoyed at our so called captain)
Its not Stan they were booing if you ask me, so much as it was Delaney and Robbie Keane. RK was a bloody disgrace and his post match comments....well he can just fock right off.
No sympathy here. 400,000 plus a year for dross. And still necking it out.
it was something I was involved in in a sporting team before, and we sent it to local media and they all printed it. But it would have to be done in advance and have letters going in at the same time it would appear in the media, otherwise the 'suprise factor' element gets lost.
I thought we were on about Motley Crue for a minute, ye got my hopes up.
Ye know I felt sorry for him too, Kerr and Mccarthy always made excuses about injuries and suspensions and all these other things, he has never had a full complement and just got on with it and said how we had a good bench, yesterday he came straight out with it and said the players didnt do enough. He didnt cut any corners in saying so, just brutal honesty. I really do feel for him, I think that delaney got it half right, should have done something like the germans with low and bierhoff, get stan in as a motivator etc, get someone else in as a tactician. That would have been the correct solution at the time, but instead they have ballsed it up big style, yet again.
100+ caps deserves respect and sympathy. I have no doubt he is doing his best, trying his hardest and this hurts him more than all in here put together. But I also have no doubt he is not up to it, is a proud man and should walk away. I still respect the man, I still see him as an Irish Legend, but for Gods sakes Stan, for all our sakes, not least your own, leave. Leave now. And take our best wishes.
Please.
(Robbie Keane, I'd hit a barn door with your head)

John Delaneys Wikipedia page before it gets locked:
John Delaney is the Chief Executive of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI). Mr Delaney was one of the three men responsible for appointing of Steve Staunton as a replacement to Brian Kerr as manager of the Republic of Ireland National Football team. Along with Staunton, he hired Bobby Robson as Staunton's International consultant as part of what Mr Delaney called a "world class management team". He is widely considered the worst Chief Executive of Irish History
That goal last night better not keep him in the job.
Delaney, you are a joke.

I heard 2 guys got kicked out of Croker last night for having a Delaney Out banner. Stewards came up took banner and bye bye.
So much for free speech.
im up for it. good idea.
who is going to word this letter, but if its delaney we want gone more so, he will just come out to the media and say the fans all sent me a christmas card wishing me all the best for the new year and hope that the new year will be as much success as this year has been.
I'm sure one of the more senior people in here would be well able to articulate something which would get a civil wording to a letter which shows our unhappiness with the whole situation without getting derogatory or slagging personal insults. It'd be good to send it to newspapers and see if they'd print it too.
is that hearsay or true?! f sake, some English guy said to me yesterday during the Russia game "can they really do that?" "can they really run an organisation in these days like that?" in relation to some of the things delaney has done in the past.
Not surprised. Look at the FAI website FFS. Its like Pravda of old.
BTW if things read a bit weird its because I merged loads of threads....
Robbie blamed the fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The TV showed Bertie & Delaney together at the game last night.
In any other first world country neither would be allowed to stay in his job.
we weren't ejected from the stadium.... we walked out. We were told to take the banner down because it was deemed "offensive" Some thick with his walkie talkie came running over and said " ahh come on lads take that down .... it might be seen on the telly" So you can see that stupidity runs from the top right down to the lackies within the FAI. Banner will be up again in Cardiff and I hope more people bring them.. don't think the FAI will have any way of scuppering a protest in millenium stadium
we were leaving anyway ... couldnt sit through that.... mexican wavers, two clueless fckers behind us talkin about how duff was having a good game.
Stan has to go and quick. Now Sammy Lee has been sacked by Bolton there's a good chance if we were to wait we'd end up with their cast-offs and with potential candidates like Jewell and O'Leary already both interested it's imperative we act fast.
have to say I dont believe four post Percy for a second!!! Percy I was sitting close enuff to the lads, tell me....what colour jacket were you wearing????
Mate of mine(cigarette patrol) saw a lad ejected, he ran down to Stan and roared abuse. Stewards grabbed him and out the door
its gone a bit ugly :(
Getting on our back....not helping.....long for the good old days....12th man.....not real fans.....not helping......
We were in the lower hogan Black jacket could be a mix up here somewhere but we put our banner up just on half time stewards over like a light but as I say we were going anyway 144 post ceannaire
I could not boo last night but I was very tempted.
The FAI spin has been that we were supporting the regime. e.g. we chanted Stan's name for 20 mins in Prague when we were chanting Stevie Hunt.
We have to make our feelings know some how.
I can honestly say that I have not heard one person saying that Stan is the right man. It is not exactly a similar situation to Alex Ferguson in 1989/1990, there is no hope that things will turn around for Stan.
I've spent a fortune following the team but I can't face going to Wales.
Judging from the papers and various websites, it seems 'the worm has turned' Delaney and FAIL sory FAI blazers look like they are about to call time on Stan and his 'world class backroom team' Delaney has even started wriggling to deflect the blame and save his own neck check this out for a classic pass the buck quote: "It's a matter for the members," he said. "It's unfortunate that I've been personally linked to the appointment when there was a sub-committee of three that made it which was ratified by the board of the FAI, which is a committee of 10." Who does he think he's kidding? He should go as well because we all know that it was he who pushed for this appointment in the first place. Here's the full report from the Indy.

It's unfortunate that I've been personally linked to the appointment
That quote makes my blood boil
Lads can those comments redarding Robbie Keane be backed up. I have not seen them anywhere and I reckon if they were said they would be all over the place. Anyway if you could find them that would be great because if he did say it its a disgrace.
