dont know the exact details behind cancellation, but we received the text during the Pool-ManU game Sat. I had heard that the Liscannor pitch is in poor condition, and not the best to hold excessive rain. They did look to play it in Lahinch (Ennistymon were playing there at 11 in cup) - Ennistymon Town 2 Kilmaley United 0 . Maybe the Moher B team played there at 2.30???
Playing the likes of Moher might mean nothing to you, but I am sure they are looking at the fixture with the possibility of 3 more points towards a first Premier Title.
Bunratty are doing well in the 1st Division, but if the Premier turns out to be a lottery like last year then the 1st Division is even harder to predict as several clubs are up there with a chance of promotion.
so you want a preimer league of local teams only
newmarket / rineanna / newtown / olympic / bunratty / sixmilebridge  ... playing likes of moher means nothing.. maybee this is the attitude that has olympic in trouble this year.. you should be looking forward to playing every team no matter who they are ::mad:
yeah, you could be right. tried to see if i could find last years final standing yesterday, but to no avail... Anyone out there remember?
The season when we were aiming at 20 for safety had one very weak team that propped up the division, thus raising the safety barrier to higher than normal. Very tight at both ends of table, so 17 might be more realistic this year for play-off place...
Totally agree, if a team gets promoted from the 1st division (a tough division to get out of too), they deserve their place in the Premier (even if its only for the one season)...... Logisitically, it would be nice to play teams all in Shannon/Newmarket/Ennis area, but the two top teams at the moment are Moher and Bridge Celtic, and fair dues to them. Its up to the rest of the Premier to put it upto them!!!!
i hope olympic get out of it but it looks tough, all the best though.
lets be honest who gives a sH*T about rivalry / athmosphere if you are winning games local derbys only worth bragging rights if you win them ... league title is the big one at end of season .. do you think moher will complain about lack of local derbys if they win the league ..:ball:
No Spudd i'll stay where I, if thats ok with you????:D
And where would that be then....?:p

For most regular posters here ,who have been around a while it seems that what has been a decent thread all along has been hijacked.
Hopefully they will go the way of so many before.:(
Lads,lets get back to football.:ball:
Anyone know anything bout the Team of the month for January or was there one? Or was that a once off?
just got a text to say that all u17, youths, premier, 1st, 2nd, 3rd div matches are off due to continous bad weather.
All Clare cup matches are going ahead.
Correct... except the Bunratty vs Lifford youths game and Bunratty vs Cratloe 1st division game. For the moment they are still on.
(Lifford are well behind in yths games and Lg have requested it goes ahead if possible and pitch to be inspected after that game to see if 1st division game goes ahead or not)
Moher won the last one, don't know if it was for February or March though, Newtown won the first honour, both teams deserving of the accolades that are coming there way at the moment.
Team of the Day would have to go to Inch Crusaders who beat Lifford A 1-0 in the Cup this morning.

Does this just apply to the under 17's games or will it come into effect in the junior cup matches also?
