I'd imagine McClean's stats are greatly boosted by his performance in the LOI First Division with Derry.
His strike rate in the First Division is only marginally higher than his strike rate in England, 1 in 3 games as opposed to 1 in 4. His best return was in the Premier Division last year when he was almost 1 in 2 before joining Sunderland.

So Duffs are 350ish and McClean 18, however I also got his average with Derry City and the average there is almost exactly the same
and it gives and overall figure of 0.244 from 94 games.
So whilst it is based on only a few games at Sunderland it does seem like a rate he might be able to maintain, however his last goal was a free
kick (but they count to!) and the one before was a while back so he may find it harder to score in the future but it is a bit early to say. If he scored in his next game it would bump his Sunderland right up, but then he might not score for a good while.

How valid the stats are is a different matter.
The bad new from those stats is that we have no players in the top 100!!
So I would question their validity.
One thing they do show is that were are good in the air!! (Long Walters Doyle and Dunne).
We do very well in aerial battle won, so perhaps a call up for Delap is in order?

Agreed on what should happen to those making the sickening comments though. Some lad was convicted of racism for comments on Twitter (I think it was twitter) about Muamba after his collapse recently, so there is some kind of precedent there.
