Is abbey v ncw changed to fri or sat nite
Have NCW played under lights in abbey before, i remember being at the agm a few years back and abbey proposed all there home games should be played under lights. The delegates from NCW were fairly vocal against the motion saying it would give abbey an advantage. The meeting actually got fairly heated !
I heard kick off is 8, should be worth a look alright especially with the state of the abbey boys hair!!All for a good cause though i believe.Ncw to go through on pens.
Abbey 4-4 ncw
Extra time being played
Abbey won 5-4 on pens
Abbey win 5-4 on penalties..newcastle had a man sent off for nothing..a joke of a call by the ref..ncw went down 2-0.first goal 5yards offside that everyone could see but the referee didnt see.ncw went up 4-2 and then a abbey player back flicked a ball off a ncw player and sent him off.not even a yellow never mind a red card..abbey scored the penalty and then scored again with a break through..the ref should really look at himself after that game..as from the words from the same ref as last week "i cant keep up with the play" he said..congrats to abbey an best of luck to them in the next round
/I was at that game last night as a neutral and thats very harsh on the ref, from wat i saw from where i was standing was aaron geary played the abbey striker sheehy on for 1st goal, yer keeper made a total mess of the 2nd goal to put them 2 up.Great response from ncw though to come back an go from 2 down to 4-2 up,ye played really well for them 30 mins.I agree that it was a harsh sending off as keeper was behind player who handled the ball. A great game of football by 2 decent team and as a spectator its a great way to spend a friday night,a pity more team dont avail of lights.
You must have been standing in a very bad position then southern kid as he was clearly offside..there was a few people in the box at the sending off time but everyone at the match could see that it wasnt even a yellow card never mind a red card but whether or not it was a penalty i dunno.

I heard the ref scored two of Abbeys goals and saved the NCW penalty.
But seriously lads this blaming the ref for losing games has to stop... There isnt much point logging on here 10 mins after the final whistle to b*tch about the ref. whats that going to achieve?
If ye feel so strongly about it then contact the league. Ive yet to hear a person complain that a ref gave them a dodgy decision.
Get on with the game and stop blaming someone else every time a match is lost...its pathetic
There was another great cup tie between Shannonside and Newcastle West Rovers going to penalties!
Rovers going one nil up in the first half with a free kick from Seoirse Joyce, after been slightly on top for the half.
Shannonside came out well in the second half and applied the early pressure. Mid way through the half the pressure paid off and Shannonside got 2 goals from breaking balls in the defence that weren't cleared, the second coming from good play on the right wing.
But Rovers responded well to going down, and within a matter of minutes were in the lead again after Seoirse Joyce completed his hatrick scoring two well struck goals setup from Andrew Ruddle.
It was even peckings for the rest of the game, until Shannonside scored a header from a corner in the last minute of stoppage time to bring the game to Extra time and eventually penalties.
Shannonside won penalties 6-5, after two good saves from their keeper Tommy Quinn in the shootout and Kevin Mee saving one for Rovers.
It was an exciting game that was well played with great preformances by both sides, Rovers unlucky not to win it in the 90 minutes but Shannnonside kept applying the pressure that paid dividends in the end!!
I totally agree with u snafu,i was at that game and the referee had a decent game, making mistakes for both sides(as referees across the world normally do) but noting that cost ncw the cup tie,ncw should look at their own back four, particulary their full backs who were shocking on the night, maybe it was the lights mr geary!!Also abbey finished the stronger of the 2 which would suggest ncw could do with more work on the training ground an not bitching about the referee, its a thankless enough job with out some twit coming on here an quoting a referee saying he said he could not keep up with play, wheres the proof that it was ever said?? The refs first name is tony but not sure wheres he is from know it all. best of luck to broadford sunday and also the desmond youths, lets hope ye both keep the flag flying for the league..
Would anyone know if there is a date set for the Hogan Cup Final ? Is it likely to be played on a Friday or Saturday night ?
Anyone know do away goals count in the league cups?
If so what about goals scored in extra time ?
it wouldnt be like the losing side to complain about the referee anyway would it? since iv been looking at this forum it always seems to be the same people complaining, think you should concentrate more on your own defending abilities first buddygeary23 before you start blaming referees and what ''joke of a call'' he makes...
Id say we can put it to bed now lads, I was at the match myself, O'Shea was on the six yard box, he stuck out his hand, stopped a goal bound shot, obviously a red card, the keeper was to his left and had no more than a 50 50 chance of blocking the shot if O'Shea had not acted. I’ve said it before about blaming refs, Of course they are going to make mistakes, Its Desmond league. People rant about Premiership refs for being poor and yet the expect that these local refs be perfect. Id say these people should expect perfection when these people drastically improve the playing standard in the leagues, I see Buddy failed to mention in his report his horrendous backpass that led to the Abbey goal or failed to mention that O'Shea slapped the red card out of the refs hand when he was dismissed. I think Buddy should come on here and apologize for the inaccuracies in his report.
Aggregate scores count first in league cups in lower divs, then away goals, if you get to extra time and score an away goal, it counts of course as an away goal. So you lost home leg one nil and won away leg one nil, then it goes to extra time, if you the away team score again and home team score then away team go through as result is 2 2 on agg but away goals count
Best Of luck to everyone involved with Broadford tomorrow, I have no doubt they will do themselves and the league proud.
