I believe that there are a lot of new underage kids signing up this year.
Yeah sure... That's the place to discuss it. Even though the committee decide the price, it's still put to the players to gauge the reaction and to decide if it's reasonable or not. That's how we do it anyway. Don't think it's really the sort of business I would be posting here although.
The pitch got the goalmouths re-sodded yesterday and it looks a helluva lot better for it.
I gotta say that I'm revving up for the new season at both underage and junior level and I'm looking forward to a season of great football and more trophies from the juniors!!:D :D :D
Is that U.16 cup game against Claremorris going ahead tomorrow?
I see that the FAI Summer Soccer Camp is coming to Westport in August. Should be a great week for the kids that sign up for it.
how is the B team shaping up for the new season?. who is the captain?, is there many of the older lads still there like ian mc and olly mac?
Played a couple of challenges. Saw the 1-1 draw against Partry that was spoiled by the wind. Don't know who the captain is this term. Iain Mc is certainly playing again this year. Not sure about Ollie Mc. They're planning to blood in some youngsters. I reckon they will do fine this year.
The-Beer-Baron is formally welcomed to www.foot.ie. Great to see another Westport United fan join up.:D :D :D
more of a former player than a fan. ya they did quite well last year with the youngsters so i reckon they should stick by them. on a totally different note will ian ever retire? i reckon hes owed at least 3 testimonials at this stage.
Is it true one of the back bone or the rock of Westport has resigned his place on the Westport Committee, that being the great Kenny G.
What a great shame will be a big loss to structure of Westport, and failing on the committee not to resolve any outstanding issues, that were outstanding between them.
Iain McLoughlin is like a Duracell battery. He will keep going and going and going. When he has enough, he will pull the plug. Mind you, his retirement from the first team was a little premature; he ended up missing on getting an FAI Junior Cup medal as a consequence from that. He retired in October 2004, the following June, we all know what happened.
We're getting the U.14B team ready for the new season, and there was a great crowd at training tonight in McConville Park.:D 32 players turned up for training!! :D
I heard a vague story about a civic reception supposed to be accorded to a Westport delegation in Derry's Guildhall on Friday week by Derry City Council, which includes ex-Westport United players from Westport and the Derry connection like Stevie Wilkinson. Anyone know anything about it?
