Best of luck to broadford today,its about time one of the desmond lge teams take one of the big teams from the big smoke especially after the oscar traynor success a few yrs back.their is 5 or 6 of that panel on the current broadford team, if my memory serves me right abbey were the last team to win up there before they were beat by eventual winners portmarnock on pens in last 8,
Fairview and Ballynanty game was abandoned by the ref just before half time. 20 man bust up in the middle of the park after a bad tackle from a Fairview player. Ref only gave a yellow and Ballynanty bench gave him loads of abused so he called it!!
OLD MILL 3-2 Athea, Desmond Cup. James Morrisroe equalised in second half with his first Desmond Cup goal, Brendan Hayes got a late second half equaliser and Brendan Hayes completed the comeback when he scored from the edge of the penalty area for a last minute winner

Newcastle West won today with out breaking sweat. A Glin Rovers B team that beat Ballingarry in the 3rd round of the cup last season (a Ballingarry team that went unbeaten in Div.1 last season) to getting hammered 8-1 at home to NCW and bottom of Div.3 big change from last season. Hard to look past Broadford this season in all honours but i fancy NCW to take the Desmond Cup. Little note to Glin Rovers on how well there field is after the past cuple of wet weeks, a very dry field..well done all!!

Watch broadford and fermoy play Clare league teams earlier this year and Broadford look the better side. In saying that, Fermoy played a premier division side and Broadford against weaker first division side who have now folded
I thought that was a dry field as-well. Nothing short of a NCW win in this fixture and there will be a great run in between themselves and broadford for the league. A good few fixtures failed this weekend especially with the games in the Desmond Cup..any word when they will be played?
Killeany V Carrig was a pure top of the table clash with carrig missing some chances. If Killeaney can beat Rockhill at home no doubt they will be back in the premier division next season.

Great result for broadford utd yesterday in the munster junior cup.especially with carrick utd and pike rovers being knocked out.they could go all the way
