UAE looking like taking an absolute hammering from India here. 8 wickets down after 22 and only dropped a great chance for another a couple of balls earlier. A walk in the park for an India side that are bowling fantastically well.

Make that 9 from 24. Combining an exhibition in bowling with a horrible innings with the bat from UAE.
Am afraid to switch on and check!
That be all. Out for 102..lowest score of the WC so far.
Anyway I might actually lump on SL
Its not an anti England thing at all, just find it funny how rubbish they are at cricket all things considering.
Have backed the Aussies from the start, but they display the usual arrogance one can associate with teams from down under. Might see if I can cash in when they get to the final, as I see India as the team to beat so far!
Loving this world cup, ha

Too much work tomorrow to watch tonight/tomorrows game, not that we (ireland) wud have any chance anyway. Stayed up over the weekend to watch the england game, nearly killed me, was wrecked after it!
Hopefully will awake to some good news
South Africa 66-1 after 12 overs. Great bowling from John Mooney who took the wicket. Poor from Sorensen and Kevin O'Brien.
Very quiet on the bandwaggon today. I would love to watch the full match, but definitely have to go to work today, as in the office. Saffies really sticking it to us. Need a wicket in a hurry!
259-2 after 38.4. O'Brien with the wicket.
Ireland need 412. Spinners did reasonably well but too easy to hit O'Brien and Sorensen.
Ireland are very poor with the bowling and now the batting - going to get a hammering i think 26-3 in reply to 412!
This beating today will cost Ireland in the long run ..... the run rate will destroy them ..... its a great pitch to bat and they just throwing away their wickets!
Lifted things slightly somewhat, but still nowhere near the races. Need a big next 10-15 overs to get the run rate up. Never reaching the 400, but even getting up anywhere around 300 would be a nice enough return against a very good SA side.
150-6 after 30 overs ..... If they get to 250, they will do well!
They would have been better off being all out for 80 after 10 overs, than this.
This is pointless - why aren't they swinging at everything ?
172/8
Not so bad when you consider what it was like earlier on.
Never really got into our stride and the 2 dropped catches cost us dearly.
Not only that they ended up as 2 centuries but probably killed our confidence.
Oh well...would have hoped for a more aggressive tactic as pointed out, but still, 210 against South Africa isn't bad all considering.
210 is remarkable considering how awful our opening 5 were.
Yes 210 is good considering what happen earlier - the game on Sunday morning is huge now! - have to win it
We're better than Zim. We should beat them. COYBIG.
I'm hoping the India game is moot by the time we get there. HOPE against hope.
No it wouldn't. The net run rate would have taken a hammering. Indeed it did, just not as bad as it could have been. Pakistan's routine win over the Abu Dhabis meant we dropped to fifth with a game in hand.Quote:

If the team is bowled out it's the total divided by 50 to calculate the run rate so in your scenario it's 80/50 = 1.6 or 200/50 = 4.0 so batting for longer is better even if the scores are not that high.
I think.
I think the mistake I was making was - I was taking our NRR for the SA game and adding it to what was already there - instead of calculating it over the whole tournament. Which makes more sense!
Goal difference for cricket me @rse!
The NRR will make no difference as long as we beat Zimb. on Saturday morning!
Scotland could not do England a favour this morning ..... England really up against it now ..... they have to win on Monday morning or they going home! :)
It is extremely complicated, but it's calculated by the amount of runs scored so far and the overs faced, against the amount conceded and the overs bowled.Quote:

993/150.0 = 6.61

-1.13 NRR after 3 games.
This is good for Ireland ..... West Indies are 104-7 off 29 overs at present ...... Hoping India can bowled them out for around 150!
Should I bet on Zimbabwe or Eire? Which team will have more black people?
Zim 94-4 in reply ..... this is not over ..... Ireland need to get Taylor out asap!
I think Ireland are going to lose this :(
World record total being chased!
Bad if they lose.
