i saw some reviews of irish fans after the game in israel, claiming ireland will travel in dublin....i don't think so
our first goal kipper expected to play in this game (he is wounded now) ,and he wont give you any presents like our second goal kipper gave you and france (i sincerely hope so...)
Guten morgen, ja!
I am back from Germany, very little sleep, too much nice beer, too much nice food. It was great, seen lots, Munich is great, Bavarian men are rather tasty, especially in their traditional lederhosen! Yum! :D On topic now : :D We watched the israeli game in finnegan's in nuremburg(supposed to be munich, but change of plan) was good craic in there, drunk too much though! but nearly dropped my beer when israel scored at the end, i thought that would happen, the way the game was going.
But, at least Clinton Morrison scored for me in the first half like he said he would ;) Was really p1ssed off we did not keep 3 points, ah well, i am glad everyone had a good time, photos look great. Ok, have to sleep for an hour, flying to Belfast today, check-in @ 0600 :( yawn!!
Not if other results go your wayQuote:

It does not have to be Yugoslavia you can pick what area of conflict, even here !! If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, smells like a duck..then it must be a duck !! or would I need to touch it..Barthez's line would probably not one that I support. Politics and sport should be kept separate and should not be used to support a political end. Personally, every thread that contains some politics should be locked immediately and started on a separate forum somewhere else.
I was saying that everyone can comment on it, but the comments of people who look at it from the outside will always be different from the comments people who live it will have, that's why the arguing is always hopeless.Quote:

Anyone who knows anything about the I-P conflict understands that this issue divides Jews. When the Londoner was shot by an Israeli soldier for being a 'human shield' for Palestinian kids a coupel of years ago it was a fellow Londoner, but also a Jewish one at that, that was the spokeman for his group.Quote:

For me, as a sports lover, it was amazing to see how everyone (and I'm saying EVERYONE - on my mother's birthday dinner we were all talking about the games, including her who knows nothing about football). The incredible rating figures proves that as well - never before a football games here received such high figures.Quote:

do the israelis envisage that they will bring 3000 to the game here? If so fair play
Not sure if this has been posted already, but there are more pictures of the trip to Israel can be found here:
http://www.thepeoplesflag.com/web/pi...25&group_id=66
I don't think so. on the other hand, I can't be sure - we've had this amount of fans abroad already, with Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabbi Haifa in soccer, and with Maccabbi Tel Aviv (basktball) in abroad final four events, and with last year's Hapoel Jerusalem's European cup final. But the teams, I guess, still have more tradition than our national team. maybe the current campaign can change that. It also depends on the prices a lot... if there are good prices...Quote:

By the way, a friend of mine was in Ireland over the weekend - when all the Irish fans were here - and he paid 200$ for his flight. :)
Israel national team never takes thousands to overseas, apart of one game which was played in Cyprus.
Hapoel TA took 10,000 fans to Uefa cup quarter-final in Milan.
A few thousands fans of Maccabi TA (in basketball) went to final-four tournment in Paris.
I guess that only a few Israeli fans will go to Lansdown Road.
Yeah, that's why I said I didn't think so. On the other hand, I'm thinking we might get a surprise - not 3000 fans, that's a bit too much - but maybe more than usually. The team has been really hyped lately, and combine that with Ireland being quite a preferred tourism spot for Israelis lately, that's not a bad combination.Quote:

Well, isn't that the point? When did the soccer national team got the same support the a-la "team of the nation" has received?Quote:

One game, six years ago. It was great to see, I don't deny that, but it doesn't happen very often, and definitely doesn't happen when the destination is a bit harder to reach. I know the prices are bad, but I'd love to see more support on a regular basis. If people are talking about the fact that the team lacks some kind of tradition, having a good and regular fanbase is a good way to start too.Quote:

Also, Iran sold out their section even though I can't see that many of them flew in from Iran. They liked their drink too much. :eek:Quote:

Cyprus is only an hour flight from Israel ffs!!! its not like the six hours between TA and Dublin! I reckon anywhere between 8000-15000 will travel for our game in Cyprus in October dependig, on results in the meant time.
everything will be sail :) trust meQuote:

Tbat's for flight and a night's hotel and match ticket...I think. You'll need another £100 to buy a round of drinks though. ;)Quote:

i tell you in full responsibility, and without no doubt
all the ticket for the israelis fans will be sail, and there will be a demand for more tickets
(in this price i am coming.... :)
I meant 100 pounds for flights from western Europe, accomodation for a one night in Dublin, match ticket and transfers between airport, hotel and Lansdown Road.Quote:

Well, considering the prices of charter flights between Israel and Dublin are usually about 500$... although I know that over the last holiday there have been packages in much lower prices. I'm guessing we won't be so lucky for the game, though. Last year's ULEB Cup final in Belgium was 700$ for two nights and a direct flight, and it was probably in the most yucky town in Europe, and surly not as expansive as Dublin.Quote:

And again you just prove my point :) - the teams in Israel get much more support than the national ones. We've seen incredible amounts of fans follow MTA and Hapoel Jerusalem (last year), as well as the soccer teams which played abroad, but the national team hardly gets that kind of massive support.Quote:

So, spill the beans! Did the charm or the new grooming regime work ???!!! :D ;)Quote:
