Dunne could have a testimonial next summer according to Soccernet as a player who was with a club 10 years.

What are you on about? Celtic must play in a testimonial or 2 every single year. They happen all the time.
You're eligible for a testimonial after 10 years of service with a club. I don't know how it started but that's been the way for years. That's not to say Dunne was going to have one. It's his choice.

I think it stems from when there was a cap in salaries so the players were no were near as well off as they are now when they retired. So they got the gate from their testemonial to set them up.. Simpler times.Quote:
