I don't understand the objections to the purchase and proposed development in Bruff. In my opinion, the only thing wrong with it is that it's not in the city/suburbs. But then, there were probably no suitable sites available at an affordable price in or closer to the city.
If the development goes ahead it will save the club a substantial amount of money that has to be spent every year on hiring training facilities. It might even allow the first team the opportunity to go full time, if that was deemed worthwhile.
While it may sometimes be necessary to pay full time wages to attract the best players, unless you have full time access to training facilities you will never get the return that investment should yield because the team will never actually be working on their game/fitness in a normal full time setup.
