Happy for Galway but this is pathetic.
Mmm, wall fondant.

I think that's what abbotstown was built with.
Bohs delivered everything they were asked for too!
Licensing system is a joke and has to be reformed, having agreements in place means nothing if they are not honoured. As for our own situation it was clear that problems with the FAI and Revenue were to blame for us not getting our cert on time. The former CEO of GUFC Ltd did us no favours either. Galway united is now in the hands of the fans, we face a massive challenge to right the wrongs of the last few years but we are up for it.
"The Appeals Body acknowledge that the tax affairs of the club were and are in order and it was clear that the club had made attempts to secure the appropriate documentation but due to exceptional events were unable to provide it on the date required."

What happened to the stuff about money being owed to football creditors? Was it only ever the tax cert that was in doubt?
It's not Galway's fault that the Revenue wouldn't get off their holes and give them the necessary documentation. From reading their forum, the GUST crowd have worked their fingers to the bone to get this all sorted and fair play to them.
They still should never have been promoted in the whole IAG fiasco though. :p
Agreements had been reached with football creditors prior to deadline but all payments had not cleared accounts, like Bohs. Payments have now cleared the accounts, unlike Bohs.
Only in the LoI.
so,
11 teams in the first? surely they cant allow that to happen? please promote cobh!
Delighted to be back but the FAI really made a unholy hames of the whole thing. Whatever about not awarding Galway Utd a licence earlier in the week they really jumped the gun by promoting poor Monaghan whose fans I really feel for. The FAI must have known almost immediately that Galway were going to appeal.
Absolutely delighted but genuinely feel for Mons fans. The impending heartbreak of the last week was unbearable so I can only imagine how Mons feel after yet another body blow.
AS soon as I heard Bohs had failed to pay the final amount due to the 2010 squad as scheduled, I knew Galway would get a Premier Licence.
