So no playing time between now and Macedonia at Home, well very little if the 6 weeks is correct. Step up Long? Walters? Keogh?....Stokes? or perhaps Duffer?
If he's not match fit of course.
Robbie has a habit of scoring on his first game back - a bit of injury with light a fire in his belly I'm sure. (As long as it's not literally a fire in his belly.)
An aside:
Heard today from a friend of mine in Scotland that Robbie was in a pub in Dublin yesterday before the Scotland v NI game. Apparently he fell in with a bunch of Scottish fans, signed autographs and posed for photo's, then paid for their lunch before he left.
Nice to know there are still a few decent people left playing the game. Whatever people say about Robbie, he seems to be one of them
Who do we think has played themselves into a starting position now in his absence? Long or Walters? Or even Best? Will Trap go on club form or what he sees in the few days training?
has to be long with doyle for me, hopefully robbie will recover early and maybe get back for it.
Doyle was very poor the other night and Walters did put in a decent shift but you would have to go with Long and Doyle.
Long and Doyle would be the least risky, they'd be very familiar with each other's style of play, having played together at Reading
Walters/Best to come on for Doyle, but I don't think we've an obvious replacement for Long, unless McGeady comes into the middle?
lads it may not be as bad as reported...from West Ham forum, i read on sportinglife that he was to have a fitness test aswell. until the club confirms it we wont know how bad it is.
Robbie Keane could yet feature for West Ham as soon as tomorrow afternoon after it emerged this morning he will undergo a late fitness test on his injured calf ahead of the relegation battle with West Brom.
It had been thought the Republic of Ireland captain was set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines with a torn calf muscle. However, reports this morning have claimed that the striker will be given every opportunity by the West Ham medical team to prove his fitness and has not yet been ruled out of the clash at the Hawthorns.
West Ham will give a late fitness test to calf injury victim Robbie Keane before deciding whether to include him in their squad for tomorrow’s clash with relegation rivals West Brom.

I guess it's the passing of time, but I've never been so relaxed about Robbie being an injury doubt. If Doyle & Long are both fit then I don't see it as a big deal.
Having Duff fit for once will be a big bonus.
Robbie never fails to get his, does he? He'll have made well over three hundred thousand pounds sterling for playing just the two matches by this time next month. I'm beginning to see why everyone hates him.
Doyle is nailed on if fit but I think Best has the chance to play his way in too. It appears he will be fit for the weekend's fixture.Quote:
