He started the 1st leg as well. Possibly came on v Derry if I'm not mistaken.

From a Pat's perspective, very promising that both teams are capable of throwing goals away, and the extra time won't be any harm :D
Pat’s ain’t home and hosed yet but I get your point.
I actually watched a 12 minute highlight package of the 1st leg. Not sure how it finished. 0-3 to Sabah. Was nil all till 60 odd minute.
Are the Israeli sides playing home games in neutral venues, because it was a very small ground and nobody at it.
Yeah, it was in Budapest. They wouldn't be in extra time if they'd had a home leg in Israel I think. (And they shouldn't be in the competition to begin with of course, but that's a different matter)
You could argue a 6-5 means both sides know where the net is, which could be trouble for dodgy LoI defences in Europe :p Though broadly speaking I do agree neither side looks terrifying. Weaker than Zurich and Copenhagen I'd say.
6-6 now actually - penalties looming it seems. Though still 7 minutes to go.
Anang really showed his quality there. Catches a decent drive from 20 yards like it’s nothing, then plays a 70 yard ball to put Mulroney through for a shot that Vaduz saved. Quality keeper.
Just the 11-0 over the two legs...
Sabah miss first in the shoot-out in Azerbaijan. 2-1 Maccabi after two kicks each.
Edit - Maccabi miss back; 2-2 after three kicks each now
Sabah through 3-2 on penalties. Maccabi missed their last three kicks, with Pierrot - who scored twice in the game - missing the last one.
Not sure which side would have been better tbh. I think Sabah are weaker but the trip to Azerbaijan is awkward whereas playing Maccabi in a neutral venue would have been a help.
Still, it is what it is. Pat's not through yet of course.
Hard luck on maccabi considering they couldn't l
Play there home leg at home
I was a bit worried Sabah were unexpectedly very good given the first leg, so a bit of a relief that they can get hammered at home, still wouldn't make Pat's favourites but if they get there they have a chance, as 3rd round draws go it's decent, like Derry getting Tobol last year I suppose.
2-1 Vaduz, I appreciate their stadium announcer giving it socks and encouraging the crowd to boo Pat's :D
Goal for Vaduz and it sets up a very nervy last 15. Wtf were Pats at there? They were in no trouble at all for ages then just allow a lad to stroll across the box and roll one in. Did it get a deflection or did Anang just fall in the wrong direction? I probably cursed him with my earlier praise…
2-2 now. Great quick reaction by Romal Palmer to put that in.
Vaduz are very annoyed now. You can just tell they really think they’re better than LOI standard.
Would absolutely love it if pats got a 3rd to nick the win.
Rapid Vienna 5-0 up on Wisla Krakow at halftime, and they've missed a penalty. Unexpected!
Magpies lost 5-1 in the end; 8-1 on aggregate. A respectable enough showing I guess
How's the ol' Shels doing ?
Well done Pat’s
2-2 FT and pats are through.
Vaduz threw the kitchen sink at it in the end. Hit the bar and had a few shots blocked but Pats fully deserved to go through.
Any stream for the Shels game?
Congrats to Pats. Looked a bit wobbly at times but some good attacking forays also. Palmer and Leavy stood out for me.
Job done and through to the next round. Was a bit nervous when they took the lead twice but we equalized quickly both times which was a huge relief. Sabah in next round now, would have said they'd be far too good for us but after their near total collapse today I'm not so sure.
Nice boost for the co-efficient too! Now if Little Old Shels can do something
Spoken like a fan of a LOI team who hasn't been in Europe for a generation or two. These fans are similar to english football fans of lower league clubs who arrogantly assume their country has a god given right to walk over any opposition.
Fans of dundalk,Rovers, pats, bohs et al will always be more guarded in their optimism of European football, for very good reason.
Seems a very quiet game in Tolka?
Zurich's twitter had nothing for the first half. Shels noted two or three changes. Livescore says one shot on target all game, for Zurich
Meanwhile Zira - who finished level on points with Sabah in Azerbaijan last year - are 6-1 up on Dunajska Streda of Slovakia. So for all that Sabah mightn't have impressed today, the league is dangerous still, and Pat's aren't Maccabi
Shels seem to be holding their own but Zurich are in 2nd gear also.
A draw wouldn't be too bad here and add 0.125 to the coefficient. Keep it tight Duffer.
Zurich player just pushed over a Shels coach on the sideline trying to claim a throw in (it was clearly a Shels throw in). A bit of a scrum on the sidelines ensued and the player got booked. Stupid on his part. Edit: hooked off by the boss moments later
But of pride restored for Shels and that undefeated record at home continues for another year.
