being close isnt good enough PAL if ye didnt carry players ye'd be up..............Quote:

Don't know what football ye are watching but the standard in 1A is attrocious,Quote:

Thats true but some of the teams on top of 1A could take on some of the very poor teams in premier.
You are indeed correct,Quote:

of course and thats the way it will b for a long while yet
ya totally agree with standard of limerick soccer being poor and in 1a never said it was of any good standard, but the top few teams in 1a aint that bad, they would be similar to bottom 4 or 5 in premier look at ul beaten on pens in fai quarter final and are 3rd from bottom in premier but in fairness agree again that only a few clubs can do anything major in fai.
Did i annoy you Quinny?Quote:

Tere fai cup run was fantastic and they need to b congratulated but doing well in tere own league is the most important surely

I have to agree with 3 Heroes on this one. The standard in 1A this year is very poor. Ok Corbally beat Boro thats fair enough. But from past years the standard has really dropped. This year there are maybe 2 or 3 teams that could hold their own in the premier. But in the past few seaseons there would have been more. I still think ye (Star) will have to strengthen a lot to stay up next year. Cant see staying up with the team ye have at the moment.Quote:

By the way I am not UL/ Aishling. I cant understand your point. The likes of UL/Aishling aspire to playing in the premier. If you do not apspire you never achieve. The premier is hard to make you mark in and it cant be done in a season or two it takes time. UL/Aishling are an excellent Schooboy club along with the like of Corbally etc etc.
Another point with regard to the modern player. Loyalty to a club is a thing of the past. Players jump from club to club without a thought and this is what makes it even harder to make your mark as a club in the premier. So the likes of UL/Aishling and Granville etc etc what should they do they do just give up and not bother with trying to make into the premier....
Just making a point. Would have thought as a Wembley man you would understand this point as its a club who in the past few years was badly let down by its own players who jumped ship when they were struggling. Considering the work that Jimmy Collins and others have done to put them back up where they should be. I hope they do manage to do it because they are also an excellent schoolboy club.
Final point with regard to Premier Clubs and schoolboy Clubs.... There are a few clubs in the division who do not have any underage sides.... so are doing nothing to promote the game....
Trying to make a point and to ensure they debate is balanced.
Good points (twinkle toes) and ill take that into consideration next time i post. its good to c someone with a properly taught out opinion. But just one question, how long do u have to b involved wit a club before u are considered a club member, cause jason and anthony were with wembly just as long as they were wit vereker, if not longer.
But did abbyvale not say that they would need to get in more players for next season if they got promoted, afew posts backQuote:

Thanks for the quick reply.....
Ya he did actually. But I wasnt having a go at him or star. I was just saying that I think they need to strenghten to stay up.Probably stating the obvious really.Quote:

All the more reason why clubs like ULAA should be applauded for getting to premier and giving such a good performance in their first season....hopefully other clubs will follow....we shouldn't be putting down the up and coming clubs but figuring out ways, be it coaching, facilities, etc, to make them compete with the big boys, it will make for a more competitive league with a higher standard of football....
