Thanks :) I was kinding of expecting it... but I think more people should stand up for him, I think he's really talented... He really seemed to link Sunderland's midfield with their strikers last year... I think they missed that a lot this year. I hope he gets back his fitness soon and gets a good opportunity to show what he can do somewhere else.Quote:

I'm a big fan of Connolly too... He always seemed to get a hard time from the crowd and put himself under too much pressure when he played for Ireland. Can't understand how he didnt' get more of a run in the Sunderland team last year... he was awesome for them in their promotion push.
There is a reason a player gets a "hard time" usually because they're not very good. Both he and Stephen Elliott are cut from the same mould. To survive as a midget striker you have to have that extra ability. Alas neither has it and while both would be reasonable Championship players, they certainly aren't international class unfortunately. Connolly has had some awful games for Ireland I am afraid.Quote:
